Also
A few years back, my wife and I drove from Chicago to Milwaukee to see the Giants play. We spent the evening making fun of the Brewers, because they had been so lousy for so long, because they failed so badly, and because their fans were so resigned to shit that they only cared about the sausage races and Bonds at-bats.
Guess what? We’re that team now. Feh.

Is there such a thing
as JULY callups?
by Moggeee on Jul 18, 2008 10:38 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
April call-ups, in our case. Yes, Brian Bocock, I’m looking at you.
by jcb9 on Jul 18, 2008 10:39 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
That's just cruel
Bocock was over-matched; entirely not his fault.

Kinda my point. Calling up overmatched players in April, like most non-contenders do in September.

Yeah, the organizational thinking was… Unpossible.
Why in the world didn’t they find an actual AAA shortstop on the scrap-heap somewhere once Omar broke? Not that it would have gotten us much more than an extra win or two probably, but still… It shows you that the lights are on but nobody’s home.

Oh, I disagree. The lights are on, and somebody IS home
but he’s floating in the bathtub, electrocuted by the chandelier

D backs bout to lose
so giants are still going to be 7 back its a shame no one wants this garbage divison

7 games back in a dog division
equals 49 human games back anywhere else

No one noticed
Today’s matchup featured the two leading HR hitters among pitchers this year.

Kuiper noticed, and spent the rest of the game weeping in the corner and calling out for his mother.

WAIT. Kuiper was in town and we had to listen to Papa?
WHAT IS THIS SHIT.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

Nah, just a reference to both pitchers having more home runs this year that Kuiper had in his career.
by jcb9 on Jul 18, 2008 10:45 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Although now I can’t remember who was on radio with Flemming. Which is funny, because I listened to a lot of the game on the radio. I need to get more sleep.

Papa
is it just me or does Greg Papa get excited over everything the giants do despite the score. because he sounded awfully excited when winn got a single in the 9th of a 9 to 1 game

nomar garciaparra
nomar had 2 home runs today and that is more than kuiper in his whole career. so sad

He was on the radio. I caught the first part of the midnight replay. No Jon Miller.

Hey, I just noticed the Rockies tied us for third place
Were they really in the World Series last year? Geez.
by jcb9 on Jul 18, 2008 10:42 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
And the Dodgers are about to beat Arizona in 11
Unfortunately, I suspect the Dodgers will end up winning this pathetic division. Just watch them have a sub-.500 record and win the World Series anyway.

No More Calls, We Have A Winner!
The ULTRAFAIL of the NL West this year perfectly points out the need to restructure the leagues or change the playoff system.

Giants tomorrow
so y is it when there is a fox game on the giants game never on T.V.??
by giants916 on Jul 18, 2008 10:54 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Because FOX paid lots of money to make it that way.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch

Because FOX thinks everybody would rather see the Yankees and RedSox. They used to show regional games. This week I see they consider Sux v. Angels our regional game. Whatta surprise.

whos worse Andrew Jones? the NL WEST? or the giants offense?
