Draft Signing Update?
Hey Guys and Gals,
This probably doesn't warrant a whole post but since we're on a baseball break I thought I'd ask:
Does anyone have any updates on draft signings? I've heard from various sources (in other words I can't remember who) That the top 4 picks are almost assuradly locks to sign, though they will obviously come down to the deadline.
The people I'm looking for info on are Juan Carlos Perez and Ryan O'Sullivan. I heard that Perez had visa problems that might prevent him from signing and O'Sullivan has the upside where people think he could go much higher if he ends up going to school.
Any info would be most appreciated, Thanks!

I hate to say I have no info either. I really want Perez to sign and the longer it takes the team to ink Carter Bell the more I worry that he’s gone for good. The Giants have done a good job signing draft picks in the last few years. I hope that continues in 2008.

Carter Bell
I found some post draft articles about him whilst looking for more info, they all indicated he was excited to be taken by the Giants and was looking forward to playing for us.

Ya, but he also signed a letter of intent at Oregon State so…

I haven’t heard much news about either of these guys but according to BA’s draft database, both are still unsigned.
I’m not sure if it’s subscriber only or not, but the database is here. Signed players are bolded.

Yeah, I check it everyday, but they are sometimes a little behind the curve when updating the list

Baseball Prospectus reports today, under the headline “A Giant Mess?”, that negotiations aren’t going well with our top four picks.

Can those of us who give our online dollars to the poor girls who are either tricked or eagerly take off their clothes, a summation of the important points in this article?

Um....
...I can be tricked to take off my clothes, can I get paid?
Who am I kidding, that’s not something I’d do….
(I’d do it eagerly.)
