“The Giants’ right-hander didn’t show at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, having spent much of the day getting treated for flu-like symptoms and dehydration.”
and
“Padres manager Bud Black, an NL coach, confirmed Lincecum wouldn’t have pitched in the game, anyway, because he pitched Sunday, same as Brandon Webb of the Diamondbacks. Black did say they might have been used in extra innings.
“I think Lincecum had the 15th,” Black joked.”

This is insane
It’s hard to be a National League fan. After fifteen innings of massively biased officiating and commentary, this ends the way we all knew it would. I’m not even going to pretend that the NL is as good as the AL at this moment; it’s just that they get every call and every break, and they have for a decade.

I am still convinced that Hurdle outmanaged Francona, especially given being down timmy and getting out of 3 tough jams in extras

other than the taking out brian wilson and not using mcann early enough, i thought he did fine. definitely outmanaged francona when it came to pitchers, starting with picking more starters on his team.

it’d have sucked if we lost to a home run, but at least it would have been fair – but instead we lose to an umpire calling the runner safe just because they all wanted the game to be over with and were worried about Francona having to pitch Kazmir
