Mets Giants Series

First Question; Who went to the Mets giants series? I met some cool giants fans including some who made the trip from frisco.

Ok now i tell you how pitiful the series was. The first game sucked. Shut out by Mike Pelfrey. The team couldnt buy a hit. Lincecum wasnt his sharpest but wasnt bad.

Now today was unbelievable. Zito pitched great and when winn hit that double i thought today was my lucky day. I was mistaken. We were supposed to win with pitching and defense. Pitching: bad bullpen work Defense: castillo error was a killer

bright spots: free parking, barry zito, a ballpark full of other giants fans, and john bowker

On the bright side

At least the threat of us being buyers should now be 110% off the table

Let's bring the...

I went to last nights game

Was it me or were the Mets fans way more laid back than you expected. I had a great time and we got 3 whole hits, offensive explosion!

This isn't sarchasm

I didn’t watch the game and have no time to weed through the Gameday threads. You write that Zito pitched well but I see six walks in five innings. Did he really pitch that well?

Noonan. Nooooonan!

He was was alright, I guess

Not great, but the strike zone was ridiculous at times, and I’m sure Castillo didn’t help him at all

Bill Mueller? I expect at least A-Rod type numbers from my son, Conor Gillaspie

"frisco" = fingernails on a chalkboard to me

As mentioned above, the silver lining of a series like this is there’s less of a chance the Giants will be buyers.

Speed, defense... and an almost fanatical devotion to getting picked off.

Whatever you say, Frisco Pete.

My Dave Righetti is better than your Dave Righetti.

I actually died a little on the inside by making that joke. “Frisco” also drives me up a wall.

I’m sure it does, Frisco Howie

I went to the first two games, and of course the Met fans were mellow, they were kicking our asses!! The one thing that made me happy was that there were loads of Giants’ fans at the games. Last night in particular I saw more Giant fans than I ever had at the game. Too bad we had nothing to cheer about. I do agree about John Bowker looking good though. The ball just jumps off of his bat. The lone bright spot today. I can’t believe we were torn up the last two games by Fernando Tatis and Ramon Castro. That’s just a joke. Why do other teams pick up crap and it pays off for them, and our crap always turns out to be crap??

It is hard

It is hard for a guy to be a bright spot when he walks six in five innings.

In Zito's defense

Maine also walked a shitload. There were 15 walks in the game. That suggests to me that the strike zone might have been a Weeeee bit small.

I hate castillo and his koopa troopa resembling face.

If my head is full of white hairs by the end of this season.. I blame Brian Wilson. (I'm only 22, dammit!)
