STFD FUKUDOMEEEEEE
THAT PITCH WAS SO HORRIBLE I VOMITED EVERYWHERE
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
legendary
iirc, Schmidt closed out the CG with his final K, runner at 3rd in a close game….

I just had to log onto experience this with you guys
I LIKE THIS MATT CAIN. I REMEMBER THIS GUY
Eugeniooooooo!!!!
okay, but like seriously Bruce, that’s enough now.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
the greedy SOB in me says...
i know it’s a save situation but send him out.
one guy reaches and you pluck him.
Cain’s needed the confidence boost of a game like this.
The fact that he’s so close to the first CG for the giants, let alone complete game shutout, I think could turn a huge corner for him.
by ExcuseMeSwing on Jul 1, 2008 9:17 PM PDT up reply actions
but still… he’d end up over 120 and that’s just not necessary.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
Again, thanks Dusty.
I don’t want to shred his arm.
Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.
dude, seriously - dig up.
Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.
his arm is worth risking?
no. He’s a great pitcher, but we want him to be good for a while. If we can’t trust our closer with a 2 run lead in 1 inning, he doesn’t deserve the role.
Jonathan Sanchez. He's left-handed, like Barry Zito. His fastball breaks 80, unlike Zito.
It's not about trusting your closer
it’s about giving your young emerging pitcher a big confidence boost

Durham stretched a bloop single into a double and then realized that 3rd base was unoccupied and started to run there, but then stopped and had to dive back into 2nd based to avoid the tag. The Giants dugout got a kick out of it.

of a niners/cowgirls game a few years ago. There were WAYYYY more cowgirl fans at the stick than 9er fans. i was embarrassed for our team. True, the team was awful, but still- it’s the principle.
it goes both ways
I remember back in the 02-03 season(forget which), I went to a niner game in Dallas where we pretty much killed them. There were so many niner fans there, it was like candletsick west.
