Who should take Misch's start tomorrow?

Tuesday's game @ the rockies is looming and the giants website still has Misch penciled  in as the starter even though he has been pitching out of the bullpen recently.  With the Fresno starters getting knocked around lately, this is certainly an interesting decision. So i pose to the McCoven, who should take the hill tomorrow night? Personally, i'm hoping to be sipping on some Hennessey.

P.S. this is my first time working with a poll, hopefully it works.

Kevin Correia

No need for another minor league start, bring him up now and let him pitch.

fixed

thank you, i should have had that as an option in the first place.

If he’s healthy Correia should pitch, but if there’s any doubt, go with Misch or Yabu. Keep in mind that if we get blasted on a get-away day, the starter is still going to need to throw 6, and who ever is the reliever will need to end the game. Any trip taken to Colorado is going to involve lots of pitching from the BP (even with Lincecum & Sanchez starting) and I’d wager a roster move is going to be made in the next 4 days. If it’s Correia or whoever, they will be getting use soon.

Is anyone kicking the tires on Threets? Anyone heard anything?

Billy Hayes: Nine more big-league plate appearances than you.

Threets

He has another 3 days to clear waivers, and if he’s not claimed (and I’d imagine someone would have claimed him by now) he’s probably getting sent to Fresno, and hopefully he can figure out what’s wrong. If that happens, expect a 2-3 year window for him to figure it out (unless he’s from money, and then it’s however long he can play at AAA), or get released

i expected someone to pick him up as a rehab project.

Billy Hayes: His job is better than yours.

Rehab project...

A guy like Dallas McPherson is a better example of a rehab project. Rehab projects don’t seem to happen very often, outside of the project’s original organization (unless you are someone like Brett Harper). I could be wrong, but I don’t mind clogging up these interweb tubes with my idears

duly noted

Maybe I’m naive, but I think Threets has a special arm. A 90+MPH-throwing lefty, and nothing he throws is straight. I figgered someone would’ve taken a flyer on him.

Threets

He’s 26 years old and if he hasn’t worked it out at past AAA, other GMs might not be interested in the project.

How would we know if someon already climed him?

I thought the teams had 10 days to put in claims, and at the end of ten days the one with the highest waiver priority got the player. ie: we wouldn’t know anything until the ten days are up.

He’s been very unimpressive in AAA.

Correia starting tonight in Fresno...

...so he’s not an option. However, he should be ready when this spot in the rotation comes around again on Sunday, so I don’t see them making a roster move (especially not a 40-man move) for one start. Misch has been effective in his last two bullpen appearances. I think they give Misch one more start and then send him down when Correia comes off the DL.

I voted late, after the main site was showing Misch as the starter. Misch is hard to figure. Usually he gets hit hard 2nd or 3rd time thru the lineup, as he has good control but underwhelming pitches, and guys figure how to hit him.

Last time he started he got hit real hard in the first and then settled down and put up zeros. I think it was mostly fastballs in the first, maybe an attempt to introduce the off speed stuff later.

I expect to see Yabu following Patrick M. If it’s still close in the 5th, that’s a good outcome.

I still have a sliver of hope for Misch as a starter, but Coors Field + Misch = whuh oh.

He's actually gonna start the entire series in Colorado.

Then we’ll see whether he’s healthy or not.
