Ray-Ray

Durham has 13 doubles in 160 AB – not bad. He’s been hitting mostly singles, but that’s a whole lot better than his previous plan of hitting fly balls that didn’t go out of the park.

Line Drive % 2008 – 21.4%
Line Drive % 2007 – 13.4% (yikes!)

FB% down to 32.5% from 41.3%

GB% almost the same.

Basically, he has turned fly balls into line drives, and his BABIP is .347 compared to last year’s .238 (OUCH). That BABIP isn’t alarmingly high for a guy with a 21.4% LD rate either.

Sex with a prostitute

It’s fun, but it stings afterward, and the amount you paid for it is still disappointing.

Hey, 6 road wins in a row

Matt Cain looks at the winning streak, the number of runs scored by his guys this weekend (10, 6 and 6), the fact that he’s starting tomorrow, and gives a deep sigh.

Also, I’m glad this team is winning with Winn and Durham in the lineup, but for the love of god, please tell me the only reason they’re starting is that so we can show off their shiny stats to other teams before the trading deadline.

Eagerly awaiting Crazy Crab Bobblehead Night on 7/18.

Isn’t it weird that the Giants have 28 wins and only 4 of them are from their ostensible #1 and #2 starters?

Wow, lots of pregame chatter today

So. When does the game start?

Only 911 games until the end of Zito's contract
