Questioning Bochy

Sanchez has thrown many pitches in a steam bath. He only threw a total of 76 innings last season and will be asked to throw many, many more this season. Do not push too hard Bochy.

by wilriv21 on Jun 7, 2008 5:43 PM PDT reply actions

it was more like 90, but your point stands

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 7, 2008 5:45 PM PDT up reply actions

how many pitches for Lincecum yesterday? It was less than 90, so why is Bochy asking more from Sanchez especially after he only threw 76 innings last season?

by wilriv21 on Jun 7, 2008 5:47 PM PDT up reply actions

Bochy seems to be going for innings and not pitches.

Also, it is a 0-0 game today, so there’s that.

95 on the gun

Tyler bringing it… or fast gun. Still, not bad.

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 7, 2008 6:19 PM PDT reply actions

it may be a couple of mph fast. It had Sanchez at 95mph the first couple of innings

by wilriv21 on Jun 7, 2008 6:21 PM PDT up reply actions

we are pwning the crap out of the Nats

16-1 so far.
This could get some momentum going.

26-35.... Better than you might think!

Do we want momentum?

Momentum could mean the wrong kinds of trades at the deadline

Only 911 games until the end of Zito's contract

by thehavenot on Jun 7, 2008 6:22 PM PDT up reply actions

And the wrong kinds of picks next year.

would you settle for some Misch?

MISCH?!?!?!?!?!?!

26-35.... Better than you might think!

by rhys on Jun 7, 2008 6:26 PM PDT reply actions

haha misch

so whos the fifth starter this week?? Correia back?

by po on Jun 7, 2008 6:27 PM PDT reply actions

Thursday was an off day

by wilriv21 on Jun 7, 2008 6:28 PM PDT up reply actions

Misch’s problem was mostly a colossal HR rate. I think he deserves another chance

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 7, 2008 6:35 PM PDT up reply actions

Also, FWIW, Misch has been at least as good as Zito

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 7, 2008 6:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Giants are 0-6 in Misch starts

thats more enough chances for me at least zito has a win

by po on Jun 7, 2008 6:37 PM PDT up reply actions

And he hasn’t been great – two of those were quality starts. Still, what is the alternative if Correia isn’t ready? Hennessey?

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 7, 2008 6:40 PM PDT up reply actions

yeah other than that they'd have to throw in a couple long relievers

they did this once earlier this year i think it was Merkin Valdez and Yabu pitching a few innings each if i remember right. Now without merkin it would proably be Sadler and Yabui’m thinking

by po on Jun 7, 2008 6:43 PM PDT up reply actions

Henny is getting pounded tonight

by wilriv21 on Jun 7, 2008 6:45 PM PDT up reply actions

Misch has been a bit unlucky. I think he’s a decent 5th starter. Correia is better, though

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 7, 2008 6:29 PM PDT reply actions

..but Correia is trade bait

since half the teams in the league could use him. Nobody trusts Misch.

by wcw on Jun 7, 2008 6:30 PM PDT up reply actions

True. Correia could be a starter or a closer. I would be ok with trading him for prospects. We’ll have more minor league pitching ready for the big club next year

27-35.... But 20-6 when Timmy/Dirty pitch. 7-29 otherwise. Yikes! But yay!

There he said it

“It was good to be back in the OF tonight”. He likes and feels comfortable in the OF and apparently the numbers back it up. Watch out Freddie!

by wilriv21 on Jun 7, 2008 6:40 PM PDT reply actions

That’s great and all, but really, he should be able to hit no matter where he plays defense

by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 7, 2008 6:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Fact

however trying to learn a new position in the bigs and learning pitchers at the same time could be a complex situation for a kid.

by wilriv21 on Jun 7, 2008 6:43 PM PDT up reply actions

not just in the bigs

look at Posey’s stats last year (learning catcher) vs. this year

Fiddlefarting around in Sin City

missed it , dammit x3

I really like excellent pitching performances. Also grand salamis. With cheese and Spicy Brown mustard…drool…

dammit x4

see , this is sort of like the Blanks’ series except the underdog remains the underdog – which wasn’t fine then but is most excellent now.

If this is what happens when I miss games (this one and Timmy’s), then I guess I don’t get to watch for the rest of the season.
