There would actually have to be men on base in the 5th inning to jinx that.

Grant pulls the old thread early
He’s thread happy after opening 800 of them yesterday during the first round of the draft.

Hey, Bowker got his first ML stolen base earlier in the game. Does he get to take 2nd base home with him?
today he is the greatest
in the history of the world.

every time the commercial for the new Adam Sandler movie is played, the world gets slightly stupider.
Billy Hayes: Nine more big-league plate appearances than you.
I saw the preview for the new Mike Myers movie
and it actually made the Sandler movie look funny by comparison.
All-Father Watch: 1.32 ERA, 5 saves, 0.95 WHIP, 26 Ks in 27 1/3 IP
It looks incredibly awful.
They have a 2-hour movie in which to find 3 minutes worth of funny stuff for the trailer, and that was the best they could manage?

Why is there two little zeros next to the Giants in the score line? Isn’t one enough?
Only 913 games until the end of Zito's contract
yeah, butit's all round

Good to hear it
I’m really glad it wasn’t another pitcher. I guess a catcher is a big area of need. Something wrong with Smoak? 1B not as big a priority with Bowker?
Justin Smaok
The only thing I can think is that he had a tough time playing for Team USA last summer
Hate to be a bummer but...what's our record in games following a blow out win?

This is a Zito-like misallocation of resources.

I still think he should have been a Giant.

Sure, he's struggling now
He did hit 10 homers and walked 33 times in less than 200 at-bats last year. I bet that batting average will come up in the near future.

Fred Lewis's batting stance reminds me of Michael Tucker
I don’t like that.

Whenever Tucker connected with a home run, his swing looked really nice. Too bad he was usually striking out.

Jay Bruce – 3/4, 2 runs, 3 RBI
by North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan on Jun 6, 2008 7:06 PM PDT reply actions
So far, Dusty just leaves him alone. That’s the key: start out well so Dusty gets a good first impression. Then that impression will last forever. If he had started 0-13 with 6 Ks, he would never again leave the minors.
Although: Dusty did play Matt Murton, which is more than I can say for Piniella and Hendry. We could really use Murton and Rich Hill, who have just been buried.
