OT: Will Leitch out at Deadspin
It's the end of an era in the era of sports blogging:
Apparently, Leitch is out of the editors position at deadspin in three weeks. No matter your feelings on the site (I don't particularly care for most of their commentary though there were some truly delicious articles there on occasion), Deadspin is really a huge deal for the blog kingdom.
He's headed to be a "contributing editor at New York magazine.
What, if any, impact do you think this event has?

Nice parlay!
Leitch spins Buzz Bizzinger implosion meme into real editorial gig. Impressive. I wish him the best.

I agree
This also does a lot to further establish the legitimacy of blogging as a medium.

Leitch has probably been wanting a job he could be proud of to his parents and whatever person he wants to sex up, and running a sports blog isn’t glamorous enough, even if it’s a mainstream sports blog for people who want their sports and they want them EDGY.
