Durty Wins NL Player of the Week
The link is here. I wonder if he has enough to win NL pitcher of the month too?
If he strings a couple more good starts together, he could get into the all star game. If he ends up at 10-4 with 120 Ks and a 3.5 ERA do you think Hurdle lets him in?
Here's a list of the other (starting) candidates:
Lincecum 9-1 2.38
Volquez 10-3 2.08
Webb 12-4 3.21
Hamels 8-5 3.38
Sheets 9-2 2.83
Haren 8-4 2.85
Jurrjens 8-3 2.94
Santana 7-7 3.01
A.Cook 10-5 3.64 (Hurdles Homer Pick)
Of these, I think Timmay, Volquez, Webb and Sheets are locks. A couple of bad starts in the coming weeks could change the outlook of the rest of the staff though. I'd have to think Hurdle would prefer Santana and Cook over the other guys, but I had no idea the kind of year Jergens was having. He's definately got all-star stuff.

Good to see him getting some recognition. Maybe I should draw Sanchez since I’ve done Cain and Lincecum.

yes please.
eventually i would like to see the whole rotation, followed by line-up, followed by posey wrestling a lion.

I personally would like to see Posey wrestle Samuel L Jackson. No reason, just the thought of it made me laugh out loud at work. Time to pretend spreadsheets are funny…

if that happens then Lincecum has to defeat Chuck Norris

But won’t the world implode if this happens?

Get Dirrty
While it’s hard to pass up a guy named JAIR, I gotta say Sanchez pitched his butt off this month. If he doesn’t win NL pitcher of the Month, who would?

What’s crazy and I just notices is he won PLAYER of the week, not just Pitcher. Bengie won it too this year sometime in May when he was en fuego.
The bases were drunk, and I painted the black with my best yakker. But blue squeezed me, and I went full. I came back with my heater, but the stick flares one the other way and the chalk flies for two bases. Three earnies! Next thing I know, skipper hooks me and I'm snipping suds with the clubby.

I hate all of Mac’s parodies, and am to the point where the sound of his voice sets of a chain reaction in my head similar to the collapse of a star into a black hole. I can’t even listen to the moron anymore, and I really like Brian Murphy, P-Conn, and Dibs.

Agree completely. The show is so much better when Mac has the day off. They ought to take away his microphone and just let him do his little sound drops…many of which are pretty funny.

to fulfull the required "getting ahead of ourselves" post in this thread...
Newest Fantasy:
The thought of a no-holds-barred game in (or to get into) the playoffs, in which some poor team has to possibly face Cain, Lincecum, Sanchez, and Brian Wilson.
droooooooooooooooooooooooool.

I was thinking about this but my fantasy was interrupted with a nagging suspicion that Bochy would put Zito in there for some odd reason.

As much as I love Sanchez, I don’t think his numbers really match up with the other contenders you listed. Does anybody know how many pitchers are usually taken? With Lincecum virtually a lock, Sanchez probably has a disadvantage, as the team requirement would be fulfilled.

Sanchez still doesn't get much respect
Yahoo reviewed all the teams since it’s around the halfway point in the season. For the Giants, they said it’s Lincecum, Cain, then pray for rain. What an idiot for leaving off Sanchez, who’s actually been better than Cain most of the year.
