Auigh
Just a nice, cranky night on which to update the McCoven on the state of the TK. It ain't too good. After my surgery on May 27, which didn't work out, I went steadily into a weird decline, culminating in an emergency operation on June 20 due to a perforated colon. They had to take the whole thing out, bring me in in an ambulance, worst pain I've ever been in etc. etc. During the night of the 20th/morning of the 21st I was on 8 hours' worth of painkillers each hour, with nothing really working until they cut me open and got the whole infection/whatever out.
Three days later was my first wedding anniversary. I don't think I was coherent for it.
Now I've been in the hospital since the 20th, will probably be in till at least next week and then go home and am afraid the same type of thing will happen again. There's still at least one more surgery to go but we're trying to hold off for six months on it because the healing from this one is so difficult. However if we have to do it sooner I guess we will.
It's always depressing to write these things down. But I know you guys don't mind too much or if you do you will ignore it. I'm pretty sick of medical ish right now and would just as soon be a brain in a jar. Where I can still listen to the Giants. Incongruously beating the A's 11-1. Anyway I miss all of you, I listen to the broadcast every day, but I don't usually have the brains to post anymore due to all the drugz0rs. Hopefully things will even out soon. I dream of that night in April when I went to the game and had those garlic fries. I thought I was doing sort of average then, but that's the picture of health compared to me now. To conclude I will quote our Baron: "Get back up." One step at a time, and all that. Thanks for the support as usual.

Hang in there, tk. I happen to have a bloody colon myself—nothing compared to what you’ve been through but enough to make me respect the hell out you.
At least intestinal problems are great fodder for puns and inappropriate jokes!

Well, at least it must be nice for tk to know that all her problems are behind her!

We love you, TK!
Of course, we have to continue to agree to see other people, but we love you nevertheless. You are greatly missed. I am so sorry for your recent buttrauma. If there’s anything I can do while you’re docked, such as magic tricks or throwing overripe fruit at HowTheyScored, please say so and it’s yours.
And please don’t feel reticent about posting just because your brain is fuzzed by drugs. Just today, someone wrote a fanpost saying Sabean is an indisputably GREAT general manager, and that anyone who is frustrated with Zito “only” a year-and-a-half into his contract is “impatient and stupid.” Punch line: SAME writer. So, obviously, there is no possible way you’d be the dopiest congregant here.
Oh, and quit bragging that you were incoherent for your anniversary. Some of us are having to go without opiates at all these days. And it’s an election year, dammit.
Summing up: we love you; PLEEEEEASE let us know if we can do anything at all; HowTheyScored will make butt jokes.

We're all thinking of you TK.
And I volunteer to throw things at HowTheyScored too if it helps.
Speed, defense... and an almost fanatical devotion to getting picked off.
Hmm. You know, TK is really sweet, and so might be too reluctant to ask...
... So perhaps we should just start whipping stuff at HTS, you know, just to see if it helps. Who’s in? And what will you bring? I dibs overripe tomatoes.

I’m pretty sure that this makes you the coolest person on McCC now. I read in a magazine that not having your colon is the new having your colon.
OMG JEALOUS.

But really, I look forward to seeing you at a game sometime. I’m glad that you’re always somehow able to push forward with taking care of yourself. Be well.

Wow!
Wow, TK, you certainly have our prayers. You’ve been through a LOT - and unfortunately still have more to go. I’m probably stupid for saying this - especially since I don’t know you—but I wish I could have gone through it for you.
Of course, if I HAD gone through it, I might not feel that way. :)
But the very best to you, and I hope things go much, MUCH better from here on.

I’d update it, but I’m too lazy. Plus, he’ll probably end up on another team in a few weeks anyway. Go, tk!
Wow
Been a while since I’ve seen one of those.
Good luck TK- for someone without all your guts, you’ve got a lot of guts.

Hey , I’ll swing by the “Bodies” exhibit and pick you out some nice replacement parts – they seem to have a surplus on display and the owners probably won’t miss ‘em.
SERIOUS best wishes.

TK is seriously kicking ass with this thing, no pun intended. I can only say if I went through this I’d have murdered something by now. She’s a tough broad and she’ll get through this. I’m certain of it.

As a member of the opiate club myself I can confirm that coherency is for losers. Seriously though it will plateau after a while, although you might find you have very ‘real’ dreams still!
Anyway I wish you the very best of luck, everyone on here is rooting for you, hopefully that will have a greater effect on you than it has on the Giants!

I hope this diary is grandfathered in past the Is It Worthy of a Fan Post committee.
Seriously thanks for all the thoughts and cracking all those butt jokes. We’ll be back on the feet soon … just might not be till spring training next year.
Notgardo, I still love you -- but you're grounded. No Guitar Hero for a month, no Cheez-Its for two months, and NO BASEBALL! This hurts me as much as it hurts you.
har har har…you said crack and butt….har har har…
