Beating a dead horse, but

Thank GOD Fred Lewis is out of the lineup against a left-hander…who has a higher ERA than Barry Goddamn Zito.

Yeah

I don’t think there’s anybody (other than maybe those East coasters) who think Zito is a legitimate pitcher, much less a legitimate ace.

yeah

the effed-up thing is that I’m always kind of excited when Zito is up, thinking that this’ll be the start… and, without fail, I’m disappointed.

I’m always kind of excited to see just how bad he’ll be this time.

Does that make me a sociopath?

Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

by jponry on Jun 25, 2008 3:59 PM PDT up reply actions

really?

You mean it doesn’t piss you off when he falls apart? If so, you’re either a sociopath, or have achieved some kind of zen-like transcendence. Amounts to the same thing, I guess.

by BigO on Jun 25, 2008 4:01 PM PDT up reply actions

Maybe the first 7 or 8 times he fell apart I got pissed off. Now it’s expected. Toss in a bit of schadenfreude, and we’ve got ourselves a perverse reason to watch the ball game.

Or maybe I’m riding jponry’s sociopath bus.

There have been a couple of tied games in extra innings that had to be suspended due to municipal curfews, such as Brewers-White Sox on May 8-9, 1984, suspended after the 17th. Game ended up going 25, ending on a Harold Baines homer.

That would have been useful information before I believed.

Way to let the Giants down, timmeh.

Nobody wants Bonds, even for league minimum

From SI.com:

Teams have shied away, not wanting to deal with the glare of attention Bonds would bring. The outfielder, who turns 44 on July 24, has been offered by Borris to all 30 teams for a prorated share of the $390,000 minimum.

Borris said Bonds even would play for free—offering to donate whatever salary he receives to purchase tickets for children.

MLB teams hate children.

Proud new parent of Mr. Buster Posey... you know, if he signs and stuff.

Couldn’t Bonds sue for collusion? The idea that not a single of the 30 Major League teams could use his bat despite his age is offensive.

The players association has filed a complaint with the commissioner.

Does that even mean anything?

Does it have any effect or is it just a weenie complaint?

by boonitez on Jun 25, 2008 5:19 PM PDT up reply actions

I’d do a whole lot more than complain. I’d sue all the owners and Bud Selig. Especially since they want to pretend like they had no clue about Baseball’s steroid problem which had been around since the Mid 80’s. There’s plenty of proof that they knew and the fact they really haven’t been held accountable yet want to blame the players is a joke.

correct

33-44.... But 23-8 when Timmy/Dirty pitch. 10-35 otherwise. 0-1 in games determined by BS calls.
