Beating a dead horse, but
Thank GOD Fred Lewis is out of the lineup against a left-hander…who has a higher ERA than Barry Goddamn Zito.
Who, according to the SI Players Poll is the 2nd most overrated player in MLB (behind Jeter).
I’d say he’s not overrated anymore; just overpaid.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
As the KNBR promo put it: After a good start to the series last night, today is the day Giants fans hope for the best, but expect the worst, as Barry Zito takes the mound.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
yeah
the effed-up thing is that I’m always kind of excited when Zito is up, thinking that this’ll be the start… and, without fail, I’m disappointed.
I’m always kind of excited to see just how bad he’ll be this time.
Does that make me a sociopath?
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
really?
You mean it doesn’t piss you off when he falls apart? If so, you’re either a sociopath, or have achieved some kind of zen-like transcendence. Amounts to the same thing, I guess.
Maybe the first 7 or 8 times he fell apart I got pissed off. Now it’s expected. Toss in a bit of schadenfreude, and we’ve got ourselves a perverse reason to watch the ball game.
Or maybe I’m riding jponry’s sociopath bus.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
at first it pissed me off but now it’s just kind of fun to see how low he can go
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
Um...
How can Zito disappoint without fail since fail is his constant?

Lineup
Durham 2B
Castillo 3B
Winn RF
Molina C
Rowand CF
Aurilia DH
Horwitz LF
Bowker 1B
Vizquel SS
Eagerly awaiting Crazy Crab Bobblehead Night on 7/18.
Frakkin’ Castillo in the 2 hole. I could think of 3 other guys in tonight’s lineup I’d like to see there.
It's my blarg! Quick Pitch
meanwhile, Denker and Burriss rot away to nothing
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
Denker hurt his knee or something
And you can’t seriously expect them to not play Omar against Cleveland. That’d be just plain mean.
The whole lineup is shit
I mean seriously? Who does denker have to fu*k to get a start.

the middle of the Giants order
would make a serviceable 7-8-9 on most teams.
Billy Hayes: His job is better than yours.
Fixed
Aaron Rowand bodyslams you and then rolls around in the dirt to get his jersey messy
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
OT: Anyone know when Alderson's next start is going to be?
The little Giants are in Modesto for a 4 game set this weekend and I would hate to miss his start.
All pitchers are circling the days they play the Giants, with happy face stickers and pretty stars.

Duh stupid
they’re trying to confuse Eric Wedge
Why can't I get some Manny
I’m tired of seeing the headline on the Giants site that claims Vizquel’s bunt won the game. The only way he was getting that guy home was with a damn bunt. It’s not like he could hit the ball out of the infield. I don’t care if it’s Cleveland, give me Manny.

Can only stay a second
I’m detecting some slight sarchasm in the post title today….
Also: who is this guy pitching for the Giants? The enthusiastic post title promised that it would be Zito, yet this mystery man got a 1-2-3 inning w/ 2 Ks…

But, Zito struck out 2, and had a 13 pitch, 123 inning.

What I want to know is, is Zito’s improved velocity (and seemingly command so far too) really because of the difference in arm slot, or is it just that the Indians offense is just that bad this year?

From SI.com:
Teams have shied away, not wanting to deal with the glare of attention Bonds would bring. The outfielder, who turns 44 on July 24, has been offered by Borris to all 30 teams for a prorated share of the $390,000 minimum.Borris said Bonds even would play for free—offering to donate whatever salary he receives to purchase tickets for children.

I’d do a whole lot more than complain. I’d sue all the owners and Bud Selig. Especially since they want to pretend like they had no clue about Baseball’s steroid problem which had been around since the Mid 80’s. There’s plenty of proof that they knew and the fact they really haven’t been held accountable yet want to blame the players is a joke.
