I went to Terra Nova! I graduated the year after Greg and his awards were postered all around the school. I got to see Reynolds pitch a few times in high school. He was clearly a special talent then.

How dumb must the Rockies feel about now for drafting Greg Reynolds over Tim Lincecum? And over Clayton Kershaw.
Too early to judge Reynolds. he was awfully good at Stanford. Remember, 8 other teams passed on Lincecum.

I don’t think that’s really fair. Guy’s thrown 132 innings of pro ball and 34.1 going into his debut with Colorado. He’s disappointing for someone who went so high in the draft, but I’m not gonna say he’s over or anything two years after he was drafted.

Picking him so high was a pretty boneheaded move, IMO. He had nice years before that monster season and rode that all the way to the bank. Good for him, bad for the Rockies.

2006 is looking like a pretty great draft year, isn’t it? In addition to the guys already mentioned, there’s Andrew Miller, Scherzer, Joba, and who knows who else. Lotta talent.
Not a fan of Andrew Miller. Talk about a guy with terrible mechanics and command. He’s a bust.
But yes 2006 looks great. So was 2005.
He can turn it around. But I’ve never been high on Miller and I’d be surprised if he became something other than a 4th starter.
But everyone is aware of the Marlins problems defensively. He also has an awful WHIP, and with his mechanics he’ll likely have trouble with command his entire career. And with his stuff you would assume he’d be able to keep the hits down, he doesn’t. I predict either arm injuries or ineffectiveness or both. Which is a shame since he has a special arm. I think he’s utter fools gold.

I do find it ridiculous that they’ve rendered a third period three goal lead completely useless with the new rules – though I understand the point.

Ah, you might be interested to know that I tried the unclothed Hot Pocket.
Which is to say that I cooked two Hot Pockets simultaneously, one in the crisper pouch and one without.
There was ni discernable difference between the two when cooked on high for 3:30 minutes.
