87 MPH

Just when I thought Barry was prime for a meltdown during the bottom of the 3rd, he gets out of it.  Did I mention that he hit 87 on a low fastball.

Of course, as I'm typing this, he gets rocked for a 2 run shot.  Not good since that looked like a meat sandwich, wrapped in meat, served in a meat sauce on a meat plate.

Let's see how he recovers, if he does at all.

Too bad it wasn’t 88 mph, or maybe he could have gone back in time to when he was actually good.

Weren't those the days?

88-89 MPH fastball, a Cy Young, and the hearts and minds of the East Bay. You know, maybe the Giants can take that $126M and invest in a time machine…...

Barry pitched pretty well last ight. Too bad Jose Castillo single handedly ended the two realy run scoring opportunities…nice groundouts in flyball situations. Love that.

maybe

not GIDP on a 1-0 count in the top of the ninth with the tying runs on base? Maybe?

I, too, would like a poly. A small white one. And some high quality bourbon.

Don’t forget the rocketship.

I’d settle for the flying cars we were promised in 1966.

According to Jon Miller during the broadcast, the strike zone was “extremely generous and the low score in this evening’s game tends to reflect that…” Watching the highlights (such as they were) Zito seemed fairly similar to the one who was shelled in his prior starts. Some snagged line drives and nice defensive plays, kept the Pirates from scoring at least 3 more runs. Which would have put Zito at 5 runs in 5 innings. Par for the course.

Its been a long time.

Don’t bring reality into this! I want my rocket ship, pony, bourbon, good Ziro, and…say…Natlie Portman.

Oops

Looks like I accidentally typed “Zito” and “Ziro”

Zero=Zito. Sounds about right.

Ziro sounds like Zito’s wacky Italian cousin who can actually throw harder than 81mph.

by xanthan on May 8, 2008 10:25 AM PDT up reply actions

Or

Ztio’s alter ego, that fights crime and wields a rapier (and of course has a gay cousin who has a whip)
