Lewis can hit LHP

So why is he not in the lineup? With a day off yesterday it can’t be because he needed rest.

Lineup

by Cainer on May 6, 2008 3:04 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Quit complainin’ – 4 of the 8 starters are hitting above 250.

by allfrank on May 6, 2008 3:06 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

there's an easier way to do this

Velez, 2B .232
Burriss, SS .241
Winn, RF .257
Molina, C .296
Rowand, CF .337
Aurilia, 1B .260
Castillo, 3B .239
Ortmeier, LF .229
Sanchez, P .077

by willsetrakian on May 6, 2008 3:37 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

.300?

1) That’s a relatively meaningless metric

2) Molina is at frigging .296

3) This team currently has 3 real hitters- Lewis, Rowand, and Molina. To keep any of them out of the lineup for ancient matchup crap reasons is stupid, especially since, according to B-R, this season Lewis hits .297/.381/.378 against LHP vs .308/.389/.470 against RHP. The only real drop is in SLG. Even accounting for that, against LHP, he’s still one of our top 3 hitters.

Every time I watch Sanchez pitch, and see the velocity and stuff he has, and that he’s a lefty, I wonder how the hell he got drafted in the 27th round. He’s still inconsistent, but I can’t remember any Giants with that much potential taken that late in the draft.

I mean, Marvin Benard was taken in like the 62nd round, but he had neither talent nor potential, so.
