Grant is rich! Rich I tells ya!

According to this post, McCovey Chronicles is worth $138,920 (I love the false precision) and is the 39th most valuable blog sports blog in existence! No doubt this is based on the millions of nipple-chafing T-shirts sold. I wonder if Grant has taken to swimming, Scrooge McDuck-like, in his money?

Some things to note:

1) No Dodger blogs in the top 100!

2) Baseball Prospectus will no doubt use this to start their own blog-ranking stat, BRA.
E.g. Grant's holiday posting was amazing, and he had a .390 BRA over the past few weeks.

3) I hate Deadspin.

This FanPost is reader-generated, and it does not necessarily reflect the views of McCovey Chronicles. If the author uses filler to achieve the minimum word requirement, a moderator may edit the FanPost for his or her own amusement.

They spelled it

McCovery Chronicles. So Grant would be rich, if only his URL had another ‘r’ in it.

Eagerly awaiting Crazy Crab Bobblehead Night on 7/18.

I sometimes spell it that way, too.

And when I do, I have a heck of a time making meaningful posts.

Man

I used to make that typo all the time. I still sometimes chuckle at the sound of it.

that list doesn’t really make any sense. I love the mcchronic and all but we have nowhere near the readership of ussmariner (ranked 91)

And Fish Stripes is shockingly high.

If you like things that are funny, perhaps you will enjoy ChatterBalks Dot Com?

Oh, kenshin, so young, so naive...

This is a blog about Giants baseball—your talk of “sense”, while quaint, has no place here.

Yeah

But I count for, like, at least 3,000 people. And you should see the inflated numbers on WalrusMan.

WalrusMan counts for one man and one walrus.

He’s got quite the racket going.

Have you seen mah bukkit?

I’d agree that USS Mariner has more traffic, but I think it’s closer than you’re giving us credit for. If you’re going by comments in main-page posts, don’t forget that the diaries/fanposts siphon a substantial amount of main page semi-off-topic comments. The gameday threads aren’t close, either.

It’s a fantastic site. But so is mine, dammit. DON’T SELL ME SHORT.

In the real estate business, this is called

Pride of Ownership.

And I don’t blame him for having a ton of it.

Someone slip this note to Grant:

(but he split the take with his loyal followers)

I think we need a Win Shares type statistic that shows how much each of us lowly peons have added to (or, in Goofus’ case, subtracted from) that total value. Any sabermetricians up to the challenge?

I’d love to see a BRAR (blogging runs above replacement) stat. Obviously, replacement level = gornyson.

..so allow me to present Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain as two sweet, sweet bottles of warming hooch.

If this site is worth $139K, I’m definitely going to start that blog with naked pics of Mrs. Goofus.

No Trolley Dodgers in the Top 100?

Jon Weisman’s Dodger Thoughts really is an excellent blog. I was hoping Blez was going to tab Jon to cover the Dodgers as part of the SB Nation team…but no such luck.

No inside info at all...

...but I’m sure Blez tried and tried and tried. And tried. And begged.

by Grant on May 31, 2008 5:46 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Tab?

Let’s go with ‘tap’ instead.
