its not bad on this base at all. except that its run by the air force, and the air force is a bunch of idiots who can’t run a network. so the morale internet and the work internet is the same. i can’t get onto firejoemorgan.com, and i’ve missed so much baseball off and on the last couple years it isn’t funny. and if there’s ever a giants game on AFN, which is rare, its 5 am (like right now). but yeah, we’re excepting massive tv donations with satellite….

I've been thinking this

even if I was a Dbags fan, this is just simply not entertaining to walk. There is nothing about the broadcast- even without the announcing- that is worth watching.

It’s sort of amazing how many teams have announce crews that’re just horrible. Not just mediocre but actively, nails-on-the-blackboard terrible. How these people keep their jobs for years and years is beyond me.

by jcb9 on May 28, 2008 7:56 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Agree

in general, SF teams have pretty awesome announcers. Starkey has some senile moments, but he’s pretty good. I think Kruk/kuip are one of the best local announcing teams out there.

by bondslegend on May 28, 2008 7:58 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

No doubt

But a lot of markets just don’t know what good announcing is. Plus, SF is one of the rare places where ridiculous, blatant homerism doesn’t fly

Y’know, Lewis has a long ways to go, and he’s awfully old to be a player who still has a long way to go, but even still, he’s become about my favorite hitter on our team. Some measure of production! From our farm system! Not in his later 30s!
