Yeah, I see they blew up the game
3 HR in the last two IP. Nice.
10 Ks for timmy, 105 pitches in 6 IP. Not great, not horrible.

Never gets old.

Bochy
anyone else get the impression that Bochy thinks that Berkman is “due to make some outs”...?

I can't figure out what Berkman thinks, frankly.

I don’t care if Carlos Lee is batting behind Berkman, Berkman is totally on fire right now and I’d prefer to pitch to Lee. I don’t understand why Bochy doesn’t instruct his pitchers to pitch around Berkman.

So, is our bullpen that shitty all the sudden
Or is houstons juggernaut to blame?

it's pretty bad...
if we’re going to start referring to Mark Loretta, Darin Erstad and Jose Cruz Jr. as “juggernauts”

An aside:
Anyone else remember, during Letterman’s old “Viewer Mail” segment when he’d get a brief letter with a couple names on it, and he’d remark, “It took TWO people to write this letter”? That bit came to mind when I looked at the Giants pitching line today and thought, “It took FIVE pitchers to give up eight runs.”
Eagerly awaiting Crazy Crab Bobblehead Night on 7/18.
This is just how this season is going to go.
We can score 3 runs and win and score 7 runs w/ our ace on the mound and lose.
god dammit.
Eugeniooooooo!!!!
Are you crazy? Didn’t you listen to Sabean? We are CONTENDERS. It must be true, we’re in third place!
This is how bad I feared the bullpen would be all the time...
Thankfully, there have been some good days.
I really think we need to blame this on the Astros
Not the bullpen. They haven’t been walking people
Eugeniooooooo!!!!
by FairweatherFan on May 15, 2008 4:00 PM PDT up reply actions
i don't know...
that 4-run eighth was some of shittiest the Astros had to offer, and the Giants couldn’t get through them.
Wild pitch put Geoff Blum on, single to Mark Loretta (.235 BA), Darin Erstad homer, Brad Ausmus walks, Kaz Matsui single…
yikes. i don’t think this is the true giants bullpen, but i definitely think they get to shoulder today’s blame.

Astros
when I saw their HR totals I thought they were inflated because of the Central Division bandboxes but then they come here and hit a ton of HRs
They are fuckin slamming the ball.
I guess Tejada, Berkamn, Lee is a pretty good core.
Oh yeah, and ERSTAD.
WTF first Ausmus and then ERSTAD?

I'm wondering
would the result be the same if the Astros were here on a cold, foggy night in July?

I hate Timmy losses and no decisions
cuz they ruin the next five days. All the other days are simply steps on the path to a #1 pick.
by positiveuphemism on May 15, 2008 4:05 PM PDT up reply actions
2 of them are the Rockies and Padres
Each of them should finish ahead of us. The Senators might be a stretch to catch…but our team really does suck, so…live the dream.
120 games to go. I full believe we can lose 75-80 or those games. That should give us a good shot.

That's really Tyler's M.O.
When he’s good, he’s dominant. But as soon as he allows a couple of baserunners, you should just pull him.

that game sucked.
I blame Sabean for saying we were in contention.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
silver lining or bad omen??
One might see this loss as convincing B.S. that we’re a long ways from actually BEATING some of the top teams. (none of this “we hung tight with the Phillies and Astros…bullshit, a lot of games that should’ve been won were flat out lost)
On the other, god help us if he still thinks we’re in contention…as now he’s probably working the phones for a “cagey veteran reliever”..which he clearly has so much success in finding.

Well
aside from the 4th, 8th, and 9th inning, great job by Giants pitching.
Eagerly awaiting Crazy Crab Bobblehead Night on 7/18.

Where do I pick up my pin?
I cannot believed what I witnessed. When Tim’s pitches hit the grass, I knew this was not going to go well. He struggled but made it through the 6th. Then…well I just cannot bring myself to discuss what happened, or I might have an aneurysm.
FUCK
