So the Red Sox DFA’d Tavarez. Will Sabean crap himself at the news?

the only reason Bowker should go to AAA is so that he can get more at bats, including against Lefties. If he starts to get only 2-3 pinch hit ABs a week because Aurilia gets hot or something silly, he shouldn’t waste development time on the bench. Down he goes and bring up the great Leono.

We need a slight diversion. The original “untradeable” question intrigues me, and my ctrl-F skillz detect no mentions of the people I thought of…
Zito the Most Untradeable? Possibly. I’d submit Stephon Marbury, Kenyon Martin, and Zach Randolph as more untradeable. Yay for NBA salary rules.
I believe Mike Hampton will finally came off the Rockies’ books after this season. Ergo, anything is possible, contractually, in the MLB universe. If the Giants eat a little more than 3/4 of the deal, would someone take a chance on BZ? $4mil per year for him might be low enough for someone to bite. We’re on the hook for all of it if we do nothing. May as well start cutting down.
(Stated as one of the people that was cautiously optimistic Zito would be decent to good for at least three seasons.)
