What are we doing with Omar?
I had a discussion with my next door neighbor about Omar Vizquel returning. He wondered what the strategy would be with him from here on out. He thought they were maybe showing him to other teams for a trade later in the season. I simply think he's the best they have, and the young infielders could learn from him. What does everyone else think?

I agree with you. I was at the game on Saturday and it was a pleasure to have someone good at shortstop. I’d forgotten how good it was to have His Dreaminess standing out there.
Sure, that first ground ball didn’t inspire 100% confidence at the time (Kruk said that Omar had decided to make sure he caught it rather than styled’n’missed) but he soon settled into a groove. The guy can play the position better than anyone else in the team. His barehanded catch last night when Velez screwed up the handoff for a doubleplay was effortless – Bocock or Burriss would have been hosed there.
Is he going to keep batting above .300? Nope. But he’s a huge addition to an infield that usually has me watching games at home from behind the couch…

His fastball to first base looks more like a changeup these days
But he still brings his old dreamy enthusiasm.
Which FJM would trade you some roadkill for.
