yeah but if we get a good player at #37 in the draft it will have been worth it. not like we wouldn’t be 15-22 if we had feliz instead of castillo. why pay millions of dollars for a marginal upgrade?

Yeah. You can’t rebuild with a closer, but you can rebuild with the buttload of talent a pre-arbitration closer would bring.

Back from the ballpark, and...

...I have to ask:

At one point, maybe mid-way through the game, a camera guy filmed an elderly woman sitting about fifteen feet away from us. She was wearing a homemade shirt that read, “NANA LOVES RANDY WYNN”

Did she actually make it on tv? And was it as funny as it was in person?

PS: Happily, I was in the center field bleachers, which gave me the opportunity to yell at Dicktorino about running into shortstops AND to suggest his mother might also be his sister. Good times!

Go Holm!

Was at the game yesterday – first game we’ve managed to get to since 2006 (we’ve been flat broke and for a family of 4 a day at AT&T is pricey!!!).

Great to see Omar back and jumping around like a teenager again.

Holm’s homer surprised me – thought it was at most a double off the bat, but it just kept going!

Bases loaded, no outs – for the Giants it’s a result if we score at all!

My wife and boys did the running the bases thing after the game, which was fun and then on the way to the car we spotted Dave Flemming signing autographs in his BMW Convertible. I congratulated him for picking Brian Wilson in the wrap. Then Omar drove past giving everyone the Devils Horns salute and still jumping round like a teenager! Impressive!

Which I could get there more often – it’s a great day out!

I used to be disgusted, but now I try to be amused!
