by John Paulies on Apr 8, 2008 10:56 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah,

because of last season and battling with the Brewers. Plus, this season it looks like the first three will be a lot more relevant to us than Pujols. We've ... *knock on wood* ... actually had some limited success against Pujols recently.

I can't recall right now because I've completely blocked the 2007 NLDS out of my memory, but anyone who pitched well against us or hit well....Stephen Drew for one...then again, general consensus seems to be we beat outselves (I'll keep Bocock out of this) in that series. So there's more anger directed at guys like Soriano and Ramirez and DeRosa and Lee who just had terrible series than anyone on the other team.

It's official...

Bengie is the new Barry.

Not to piss on the parade, though, but how pathetic is it that Bengie goes yard twice in an 11 inning game and the team ends up with only 3 runs?

Little Help

New season, not sure if things have changed but I'm trying to get sportsphone post game show on the streaming web (i'm on the east coast). Is it still on after the game or has it changed? Right now the website reports that it's playing espn radio. Anyone?

Sportsphone is on

Are you on the KNBR680 stream? The MLB copyright block might be on still.

NEW DANCING MASCOT!!!!!!!

Hope someone is still reading this...Anyone who was watching the complete game today surely must have seen the TV cut to an asian guy cheering his ASS off tonight. He was decked out in G-Men gear with pins littered all over his cap. His enthusiasm was silly, funny, but inspiring. I think that we should try to isolate his short stint on TV and make him the new dancing mascot. I really don't want to repost this as a new diary thread but I will if I have to in order to get my dancing fan. Thoughts?

I was at the game so I couldn't watch it on TV, where was the guy sitting?

Don't you it's gonna be all right. But not right now.

A couple rows up from the field, right near home, on the third base side.

So missed it. Velez Double Play in the 10th.

how the heck did it happen?

Adopted papa of a bouncing new waiver wire 27 year old. Castillo hits doubles.

Velez singled to lead off the inning, stole second. Winn pulled the ball sharply on the ground between Adrian Gonzalez and the first base bag. Gonzalez moved to his left toward the bag to field it, backhanded it, stepped on the bag, and then threw it to third to get Velez with a tag.

I'd say that play isn't likely to happen again this season, but we've already seen two scores from second on infield grounders, so I'm just going to leave it unsaid.

Late to the party again

I went to bed after Wilson blew the save but was compelled to keep the TV on. I laughed out loud when Bengie hit the walkoff bomb. Not sure that's the appropriate reaction. I think I've lost my mind.

After browsing through the Padres SBN site and gameday thread I would have to say that that is the perfect response.

by paboperfecto on Apr 9, 2008 8:23 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

It wasn't so much LOL Padres but more like "lol I can't F-ing believe this."

Yeah, same reaction over here. But after reading their thread it was LOL Padres fans and Padres. After all the mocking (by ourselves more than others, although they were all agreeing with us whether they said so or not) of our cleanup hitter, what a fitting, humiliating end to a good game.

Bengie has finally crossed homeplate, and the walkoff win over the Fathers is official.

Derin McMains had five fingers, but he only used three.

And that's why they call it a walk-off.
