I'd like for the universe to have some sort of symmetry. As in, when Cain pitches well against the Padres, he loses, but when he pitches poorly against them, he wins.
I'd like for a lot of things, actually.

So wait is Yabu okay after nearly blinding himself? And if he pitches better after getting hit in the face, maybe we can apply this therapy to Zito. I volunteer my services.

This is an opportunity where I wish Bochy would use and stretch out the arm of one Merkin Valdez. If Valdez could handle 3 innings now, grow to four and eventually a spot start.
Yabu wants this over with too!

From MLBTradeRumors.com
Kiley McDaniel reports rumors of Scott Boras' asking price for '08 draftees Pedro Alvarez and Eric Hosmer. He's hearing a $9.5MM big league deal for Alvarez and a $7MM bonus for Hosmer - steep demands.
Hosmer, a high school first baseman, has been compared to Casey Kotchman by Baseball America. He's a top ten pick. Alvarez, one of the top talents in the draft, plays third base for Vanderbilt but may end up at first. He figures to go within the first four picks (Rays, Pirates, Royals, Orioles) for sure.
By the way, the Reds have the seventh pick, and BA's Jim Callis thinks they'll go for a pitcher. He names Shooter Hunt, Tanner Scheppers, and Tim Melville as the main candidates.
Why do we even bother?

Why
is Wilson pitching? There's always a snowball's chance in he!! that tomorrow will be a close game. I understand some teams save pitchers just for that situation, a "closer" if you will.
I think this team needs more mop up guys in the bullpen. Henny and Yabu can't keep this up all year.
like a starting rotation
but for mop-ups? They'll need more than one day off. Maybe there should be a "shadow" rotation of 4 or 5 who can pitch the 4 or 5 innings per game after the starter gets knocked out.

The losses we all expected. I'm kind of concerned about the mental lapses that seem to be rampant in these games. This team has so little (basically) no room for error that a single defensive miscue or running into an out on the basepath kills whatever chance they had of staying in the game.

They're just putting the radio postgame show on TV. I don't think they have any kind of setup where they can have everyone on camera. It's more of a discussion rather than talking to the audience, so I don't see why they would need to face the camera.

Meh, I was more upset at Bob Knight fucking around with his grandson at the press conference in January. Flemm's kiddos are hanging around an informal (if still on air) rap session. I can't help but think about how fucking furious I would be if anyone pulled a dick move like that on me when I was just trying to work.
