Around SBN: Lakers Should Trade Andrew Bynum So He Doesn't Go To Waste

Open Gameday Thread, 4/7

San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants, Apr 7, 2008 1:35 PM PDT

Although the decision to make Barry Zito the opening day starter was silliness upon silliness, at least there's no chance the starting pitcher for the home opener won't get booed off the mound in the third inning.

Opening Day!!!!!!!

Now it counts. Let's go Cainer. Some good news is that the Padres had Peavy and Young pitch against the bums so they will not pitch this series while Los Gigantes will pitch the likes of The Big 3 - Cain, Lincecum and Sanchez.

Due to defensive misplays, the Giants somehow manage to score 2 runs. This series.

Neither occurence happens this afternoon.

The annoying Runing Tally Nobody Really Cares About

Thru six games:

2008 Giants - 12 runs
1963 Colt .45s - 18 runs

(The 1963 Colt .45s scored the least runs in a 162 game season in the NL, 464)

Giants currently on pace for...

324 runs
54 home runs
27 wins

Over or under?

Career 2.90 ERA against the G's in 326-some innings pitched. I think I heard a statistic that he hasn't lost to the Giants in 5 years? Not sure where I heard that.

Self-Abuse

You take it, and you take it
And you learn,
You learn all too well,
So that later, when there's nobody to dish it out,
You can punch yourself in the gut
And take it some more.

The best part is,
With training and practice,
You learn your own soft spots and weaknesses,
So that you become your own best tormentor.

Double up over the pain and swallow.
It'll still be there tomorrow,
Waiting for you.

this is the worst giants team ever

for all you giant fans who debated who should play in the outfield and who should sit, it is clear that they all stink. they are a bunch of jason ellison.

On ESPN.com's main baseball page, the big headline "Worried Yet?" is about the Tigers' 0-6 start and the Rockies' 1-5 start.

No worries there about the Giants' 1-5 start. All systems are go.

Oh , piss on Joe Crede.

I was catching the Sunday DET/CWS game on ESPN while driving to Vegas and Crede shat the bed defensively , two throwing errors to first.
