San Francisco Giants at Milwaukee Brewers, Apr 4, 2008 11:05 AM PDT

Yesterday there was a short clip pre-game and the one Cubs announcer is trying to actually announce the game winning run scoring for the other team while Santo is just kind of moaning next to him about the Cubs losing.

If you told me you had a pitcher with great stuff, who racked up lots of K's and was extremely dominant in stretches, but walked a few too many guys, and often let innings get out of control with seemingly no idea how to stem the tide, I'd say you had a short reliever on your hands.

Obviously, Sanchez still has time to fix his flaws, but you have to wonder if that's will ultimately be his best role.

Noticed at around PC of 65 that Sanchez velocity had dropped from 92-94mph to about 88-90mph. He had been mainly a reliever the last 2 yrs and could use some seasoning as a starter. Possibly SF will send him to Fresno to continue to become a starter and stretching out his arm.

He has added to his versatility by learning to play some 1b. SF should carry him as 5th OF and drop the bum Davis. Ortmeier does what Davis can do and more.
