My volume is pretty low, at first I thought she said “The Giants are really bad.”

oy amy g

i remember her giving brilliant insight like that in high school chemistry. the giants are really fast. she forgot to mention how fast their 1-2-3 innings go when batting.

how do you walk willy taveras TWICE?

Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

What do you do with a Willy Taveras with three balls?

Walk him and pitch to the rhino.

2008: My previous assessment may have been overly optimistic.

by EliminateMe on Apr 30, 2008 2:26 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

Okay, so call me crazy...

...but it seems to me that when you’ve got a runner on and 2 out, your pitcher is up, and he just threw 32 pitches in the last inning to bring him up to 98 on the day – meaning he’s maybe got one more inning, if you’re lucky – and you’re down by one run, that would be a good time to pinch hit for him.

2008: My previous assessment may have been overly optimistic.

by EliminateMe on Apr 30, 2008 2:30 PM PDT to parent up reply reply   0 recs

I figured it out!

Bochy didn’t pinch hit for him because he was hoping to get the chance to make a double switch NEXT inning. It’s just not worth getting up in the morning if you don’t get to make at least one double switch.

2008: My previous assessment may have been overly optimistic.

Possible side effect of 2 seasons being bullpen filler instead of throwing 250-300 inning in minors?

Another similarity to RJ

by thehavenot on Apr 30, 2008 2:29 PM PDT reply reply   0 recs

We can get on Sanchez

for his control issues today, for the walks, for the high pitch count.

Or we get on the Giants offense for only getting two hits so far against Jimenez, who has yet to give up fewer than 5 hits in any start this season and has yet to go longer than six innings.
