He really is. The first time I saw him pitching up close I was depressed because he's skinnier than I am.

Democracy is lovely but baseball is more mature. BVCE supports Manny Burriss and SF Dugout.

In our house he has been known as "Little Pitcher" since his debut, when my wife saw him on TV and asked, "Who's the Giants' little pitcher?"

by 2X2L on Apr 3, 2008 7:53 AM PDT to parent up   0 recs

(southern california + no cable)

Does he have any command, or does he just throw whatever nasty pitch he can, somewhere near the strike zone? Seems like bengie's glove moves a lot on every pitch. What say the regular watchers?

may I ask why we need to open 2 or 3 threads now?

Because they get really sluggish when the comments pile up.

all the people who rush to write their tired jokes didn't clog up the threads.

or if i didn't write this thread making fun of those who do.

And certainly none from me.

this mlb extra innings commercial

really is irritating. not because it is on every break, or because it has the cubs (wearing a home jersey) on the left side of the bug... but because even in a commercial, the giants are losing 7-4. but hey, it has the giants with 4 runs. a positive.

by mlb22 on Apr 2, 2008 11:01 PM PDT   0 recs

is it just me

or was the pitching really badly mismanaged in this game?

wasn't the point of not starting timmy to make sure he didn't pitch with a rain delay in the middle of his outing? yet waiting till the 4th to let him pitch made that exact thing happen.

2002? I'm over it. But I'll never be over Rich Aurilia.

by wjackalope on Apr 2, 2008 11:03 PM PDT   0 recs

No, not at all

Why would you think that?

Rajai Davis: fast.

by Mike Benjamin Hit King on Apr 2, 2008 11:04 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Apparently, both managers got incorrect weather reports saying the rain was another hour or two away -- hence, they brought in the starters to go what they thought would be 3+ innings

by wedge on Apr 2, 2008 11:04 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

so why not

let them start and pull them after the delay?

2002? I'm over it. But I'll never be over Rich Aurilia.

by wjackalope on Apr 2, 2008 11:05 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

and also

why let him pitch after the delay at all? I missed a bunch of the game - how long did the delay end up being?

2002? I'm over it. But I'll never be over Rich Aurilia.

by wjackalope on Apr 2, 2008 11:05 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Let me reword : At first they thought a downpour was imminent and the game wouldn't get to the 5th. During the game, they got told, "Nah, you got a couple more hours" - so *then* they brought in the starters. Then the downpour hit as promised, and the delay happened. Or that's my understanding, anyway.

by wedge on Apr 2, 2008 11:08 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

As for why let him pitch after the delay, uh.... i got nothin'.

I turned off the TV to talk to my boyfriend. Now I turn it back on, and there's no game, only an "HD SPORTS" thing on the screen. Anybody else having this problem?
