I don't know what it was, but...
That show just didn't draw me in. I watched the first few episodes and it just didn't do it for me. Sopranos either. Maybe it's an aquired taste.

I could never get interested in either of those shows either. Those, and Dexter. I really can't get into Dexter for some unknown reason. no matter how much I like Julie Benz.

It's really tough to pick a favorite character from The Wire.
