What's the 2008 SF Giants Theme Song?
I'd like to hear your ideas for songs that could best represent the 2008 Giants.
All I keep thinking of while watching the Giants fritter another one away to the Dodgers, is the timeless line from "Synchronicity II":
"...And every single meeting with his so-called superior, is a humiliating kick in the crotch."
...So mine's "Synchronicity II.

so why don't you kill me?
Billy Hayes: Nine more big-league plate appearances than you.
i'm glad
Beck was number one.
I was thinking Lost Cause? or Already Dead?
The whole sea change album just works.
I sure wish that Ort Cloud would form a solid sphere to enter into this team's orbit.

I'm thinking...
I Will Survive.
I'm already considering the theme tune for 2009, when Sabean is fired and replaced by Walt Jocketty or the like.
"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."
How about American Pie?
Because it's a one-hit wonder. Get it?
You'd get it if it were funny.

We're Not Going To Take It
OH WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT
NO, WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT
OH WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE
WE'VE GOT THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE AND
THERE AIN'T NO WAY WE'LL LOSE IT
THIS IS OUR LIFE, THIS IS OUR SONG
WE'LL FIGHT THE POWERS THAT BE JUST
DON'T PICK OUR DESTINY 'CAUSE
YOU DON'T KNOW US, YOU DON'T BELONG
OH WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT
NO, WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT
OH WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE
OH YOU'RE SO CONDESCENDING
YOUR GALL IS NEVER ENDING
WE DON'T WANT NOTHIN', NOT A THING FROM YOU
YOUR LIFE IS TRITE AND JADED
BORING AND CONFISCATED
IF THAT'S YOUR BEST, YOUR BEST WON'T DO
OH.....................
OH.....................
WE'RE RIGHT/YEAH
WE'RE FREE/YEAH
WE'LL FIGHT/YEAH
YOU'LL SEE/YEAH
OH WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT
NO, WE AIN'T GONNA TAKE IT
OH WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE
Oh yes we is going to take it. All season long.
Or for the mound
When Thyler is pitching.
You deserve to be struck out, when your first name's a verb.
That smell?
It smells like team spirit.

I'm thinking
I'm thinking it's "The Long and Winding Road."
Three Days Grace
Let You Down
"Trust me,
I’ll be there when you need me,
You’ll be safe here,
When you finally trust me,
Finally believe in me,
I will let you down,
I’ll let you down,
When you finally trust me,
Finally believe in me,
I will let you down.
My adopted son Matt Downs. Bill Mueller without the two-flap helmet .
Last year's theme:
Chorus:
It's an old team after all
It's an old team after all
It's an old team after all
It's an old, old, team
It's a team of veterans
A team of cheers
It's a team that's gruesome
A team of jeers
There's so much that they did
But can't do any more
It's an old team after all
[Chorus]
There is just one cove
That can hold the blasts
From the bats of Bonds
Of many years past
Though the young guys give hope
That Armando's a dope
It's an old team after all
[Chorus]
I am El Person and I ¢¾ this message.
How about?
How about, "I was in the right place (but it must have been the wrong time)?"
Just change 'Pennsylvania' to 'San Francisco'
Pennsylvania by the Bloodhound Gang
We are "cop rock" we are Screech
We are Z. Cavaricci
We are laser removed
Tasmanian Devil tattoos
We are third string we are puck
We are special people's club
We are the half shirts with
Irreverent spring break top ten lists
We are munsoned we are squat
We are flashing twelve o'clock
We are spread out butt cheeks
Pulled apart so just the air leaks
We are "ishtar" we are Tab
We are no right turn on red
We are the moustaches
The Beatles grew when they dropped acid
You are the heart dotting "i"
In the word "apologize"
Scribbled drunk on a postcard
Sent from somewhere volcanoes are
I am the heart with no name
Airbrushed on the license plate
Of a Subaru that was
Registered in Pennsylvania
We are Zima we are barf
We are cinderblock yard art
We are Baldwin brothers
Not the good one but the others
We are Amway we are Shemp
We are Sir David of Brent
We are the queef after
A porn star breaks the gang bang record
You are the heart dotting "i"
In the word "apologize"
Scribbled drunk on a postcard
Sent from somewhere volcanoes are
I am the heart with no name
Airbrushed on the license plate
Of a subaru that was
Registered in Pennsylvania
NIN as sung by Ray Durham
I hurt myself today ... to see if I still feel ...
Adopted son Notgardo tearing up Spring Training ... that's tearing as in tears. Make mama proud!
A prelude to a round of "veteran" DFAs and buyouts
Everyone I know goes away in the end...

So, uh, raise your hand if you're thinking of Johnny Cash instead of NIN.

Lapdance is So Much Better When the Stripper is Cryin' :: Bloodhound Gang
I was lonelier than Kunta Kinte at a Merle Haggard concert
That night I strolled on into Uncle Limpy's Hump Palace lookin' for love.
It had been a while.
In fact, three hundred and sixty-five had come and went
since that midnight run haulin' hog to Shakey Town on I-10.
I had picked up this hitchhiker that was sweatin' gallons
through a pair of Daisy Duke cut-offs and one of those Fruit Of The Loom tank-tops.
Well, that night I lost myself to ruby red lips,
milky white skin and baby blue eyes.
Name was Russell.
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Well I find it's quite a thrill
When she grinds me against her will
Yes a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Well, faster than you can say, "shallow grave",
this pretty little thing come up to me and starts kneadin' my balls
like hard-boiled eggs in a tube sock.
Said her name was Bambi and I said, "Well that's a coincidence darlin',
'cause I was just thinkin' about skinnin' you like a deer."
Well she smiled, had about as much teeth as a Jack-O-Lantern,
and I went on to tell her how I would wear her face like a mask
as I do my little kooky dance.
And then she told me to shush.
I guess she could sense my desperation.
'Course, it's hard to hide a hard-on when you're dressed like Minnie Pearl.
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Well I find it's quite a thrill
When she grinds me against her will
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
So, Bambi's goin' on about how she can make all my fantasies come true.
So I says, "Even this one I have where Jesus Christ
is jackhammering Mickey Mouse in the doo-doo hole
with a lawn dart as Garth Brooks gives birth to something
resembling a cheddar cheese log with almonds on Santa Claus's tummy-tum?"
Well, ten beers, twenty minutes and thirty dollars later
I'm parkin' the beef bus in tuna town if you know what I mean.
Got to nail her back at her trailer.
Heh. That rhymes.
I have to admit it was even more of a turn-on
when I found out she was doin' me to buy baby formula.
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Well I find it's quite a thrill
When she grinds me against her will
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Day or so had passed when I popped the clutch,
gave the tranny a spin and slid on into
The Stinky Pinky Gulp N' Guzzle Big Rig Snooze-A-Stop.
There I was browsin' through the latest issue of "Throb",
when I saw Bambi starin' at me from the back of a milk carton.
Well, my heart just dropped.
So, I decided to do what any good Christian would.
You can not imagine how difficult it is to hold a half gallon of moo juice
and polish the one-eyed gopher when your doin' seventy-five
in an eighteen-wheeler.
I never thought missing children could be so sexy.
Did I say that out loud?
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'
Well I find it's quite a thrill
When she grinds me against her will
Yes, a lap dance is so much better when the stripper is cryin'

This season - Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now.
You deserve to be struck out, when your first name's a verb.
That was lame
I'm switching to Zeppelin songs:
When Cain goes 7 IP, 6 K's, 2 BB's, 1 run and gets the L - How Many More Times.
Bochy in yesterday's game - Fool In The Rain.
Nate Schierholz - Your Time Is Gonna Come (hopefully).
The 2008 season - Good Times Bad Times.
You deserve to be struck out, when your first name's a verb.
Yesterday is here
If you want to go to the Rainbows end
You'll have to say Goodbye
Will our dreams come true out up ahead
Well it's out where your memories lie
Today gray skies
Tomorrows tears
You'll have to wait 'til yesterday is here
