Here are your 2008 two-out-of-three Giants!
"If I can change and you can change, then everybody can change!" Rocky Balboa, Rocky IV
Personally I have to rebut what Grant said.
"While conservatives tell you 'leave things alone and no one will lose,' and liberals tell you 'interfere a lot and no one will lose,' baseball says 'someone will lose.' Not only says it - but insists upon it! ... Democracy is lovely, but baseball's more mature." BVCE supports SF Dugout and Manny Burriss.

I really hope, that for his own sake, Barry Zito throws a good game today. I know the Reds struggle against LHP.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
Though it’s a warm day with no wind—good for hitting as Kruk y Kuip said. Doesn’t bode well.

Exactly NOT what this team needs.

Zito's run support, or lack thereof
Kruk and Kuip are complaining about Zito’s 2.10 run support average. Yes, that’s not been good, but neither has Zito’s 5.61 ERA and 1.79 Whip, plus 12 walks to only 10 k’s. So, it’s fairly obvious that his 0-5 record is more due to Zito’s general support of the other team’s offense more than his own team’s lack of support for him.

Frankly, someone like Cain can really be talked about for lack of run support. He gives up a run, and we can’t even give him two.

for real though, it’s time. we can’t waste any more games on barry zito. i understand the contract. but when it comes down to it sabean MUST do what is good for the team. he has no choice to cut Zito. he’s untradeable and if not cut now, will lose every game this season. with the giants offense he has no chance simply because the best he can do is give up 3 or 4 runs in a 6 inning start, but in most cases . . . he just gets lit up. he’s done.
don’t cut him, but definitely put him on the DL with a pulled suck muscle or whatever.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
I've never understood this expression.
Zito’s suck muscle is in perfect health and very developed.

doesn’t matter.
Volquez had limited his last 4 opponents to 1 run or less…so this game was probably over before the 2nd out was recorded.
Let Zito throw until his arm falls off. it’d be good for the bullpen, good for the team.
