simple ground ball to the right side. durham slid to get it. fumbled it, threw it to first late. runner scores from second

by sweetjuxtapose on Apr 1, 2008 10:30 PM PDT up reply actions

Richie was partially at fault on this play? (Just judging from the comments.)

by non sequitur on Apr 1, 2008 10:32 PM PDT up reply actions

nah not really

it was more durhams terrible throw. he dove for a grounder and somehow ended up on top pof it and he couldnt find it under himself. and then he lazily threw it over to 1st once he found it and richie had no time to get the runner goin home.

by boonitez on Apr 1, 2008 10:37 PM PDT up reply actions

Durham dives for the ball, bobbles it, and throws to 1st late. Furcal takes advantage and scores.

The bullpen

After being staked to a 2-0 lead the bullpen came in and gave up 3 runs in less than 3 innings. The bullpen will probably have many moving parts throughout the season. Maybe we should keep a lookout for Sergio Romo sometime later this summer.

Community Prediction on Extra-Base Hits

Grant--When will we get a community prediction thread on the game/AB in which the Giants get their first double, triple, and homer?

I've got a good feeling that Aaron Rowand will get a double tonight. Unfortunately, I suspect that the homer won't come until the weekend.

The homer will come during the San Diego series next week. His name is Ted Leitner.

Eagerly awaiting Crazy Crab Bobblehead Night on 7/18.

by Kitspool on Apr 2, 2008 12:07 PM PDT up reply actions

Leitner is an a-hole, but I've never thought of him as a homer. He seems to be just as distgusted with poor Padre play as he does their opponents. I remember when they'd win, he used to call them "my Padres" and when they'd lose he'd call them "your Padres".
