Gameday Audio help?
This might be a technical question...
I can't get Gameday Audio to work anymore, this has been going on about a week. In Safari and Firefox it happens. I click on a game (am trying right now to listen to the Mets). It gives me the screen to sign in. I sign in (the account is current). I get the navy blue popup screen where it should start playing the radio feed, but instead it just sits there. Then I select "WFAN" and it does nothing but goes back to the MLB.TV options on the bottom of the linescore. I go back to "LISTEN." Click on WFAN. Goes back to MLB.TV options again. I try clicking on one of the TV options even though I don't have that subscription. Nothing happens! It doesn't say "you are not subscribed" or anything. It just sits there. Doing nothing.
The linescore will update, and I can go to the Gameday thing, but I can't get the freaking audio to work. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance ...
Distressed in the Sunset,
tk

Me too.
Can’t help you at all TK, except to say I had the same problem about a week ago and haven’t tried since. Eager to hear from someone who is not tech-tarded like myself.

It’s dumb because it’s like, we’re paying for this! Not even like cough LJ cough where it’s free and people start moaning when it goes away. I’d cancel the subscription but I keep holding out hope it will work.

Ad-Block
I’ve had it Ad-Block trip up on the MLB Gameday stuff. I have to disable it to load the either the video or audio streams. If you have Ad-Block running, try disabling it.

That other commenter described himself as "tech-tarded" ...
... and that also applies to me. How would I know if I had something like that running? (I’m on a Mac. I don’t remember installing anything like that on here)

Hmmm
I don’t have Gameday Audio so I can’t test it out myself. Do you have the latest version of Firefox and/or Safari?
Yep, just checked Software Update
from the degenerate’s post I’m thinking it’s on MLB.com’s end and not mine. Which, bah.

It probably has something to do with you trying to listen to the Mets broadcast! I mean come on…the Mets?!?
Adoptive papa to Omar...so basically I'm screwed.
Let's Go Me...oh , right.
It’s still April , we’re still in contention.
When that happens to me , Ms. , it’s because I’ve forgotten that I’ve already loaded MLB.
Or something along those lines.

Are you using the new Silverlight media player?
I am, and it works fine on my Mac with Firefox.
+1 for the Silverlight thing
I was having issues w/ GameDay Audio in Firefox, so I installed Silverlight in the hopes that it would help. It did not. In Firefox, I now get the same non-screen as you, tk.
The only thing that works for me now is using IE (ack!) (also, I’m on a PC). Bus I suspect that I’ve been cookied for Silverlight, and now I can’t not use it.
As others have said, try updating the Silverlight app, and if all else fails, try IE for Mac. Sorry. :(

+1 for Silverlight WITH Firefox
I just downloaded Silverlight (took 10 seconds plus restarting my computer), and now it works perfectly. I’m on a PC using Firefox BTW FTW.

I got it to work, at least intermittently! Used Firefox and clicked on “Original Media Player” and there it was. If I have more problems I’ll look at the Silverlight thingie. Thanks for all the help!

Nice!
May I ask where the “Original Media Player” option lives? I can’t recall seeing it since I tried to use SIlverlight that first time :(

I dont think there is an option once you install silverlight, it just always goes to silverlight without asking you for the choice. I had to uninstall silverlight from my PC before I got the option again.
I hate silverlight.

Then throw a shirt over it.
Sheesh.
um…what’s burning?

It's in the window where the broadcast should be
and it’s mostly a big advertisement for “DOWNLOAD SILVERLIGHT” but at the top there’s an orange bar that says very understatedly, “Use original Media Player” and I clicked on that.
