Dumb Question:
In the picture, the Scoreboard has O H E after the innings. What does O stand for? Why not R?
but...
Outs are at the top and O is where you would show the run total.
Netspeak found its origins in the 1950s. Who knew?

that espn will air at least a couple more Giants games this season. i’d hate to think that the only way i will be able to see them on tv is when they play the cubs or braves.
i refuse to pony up the duckets to that already filthy rich organization. it just sucks that without BB, they will never be on national tv.

... but being in SoCal the only games i would have seen are dodgers games, and that vin scully just gets to me with all his errors (“swinging strike one, and the batter goes down looking”)...

I think the most creative thing I ever did in sportswriting was posing an extended metaphor using Where’s Waldo. They play it up
To keep the audiences attention. I’ve watched on TV whiel they call it on the radio, and they are usually routine fly’s.

Flem started out there being like “fly ball to deep center, OH WAIT MAYBE IT’S MOAR THAN THAT…
...
...
nah.”
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.
Thinking about Flem saying MOAR is making me giggle.

I don’t see Chulk on the available pitcher list in gameday.

If we just combine all the bad breaks in one game we won't win anyway
We’ll be set for the rest of the year.
It’s a winning strategy!

Ha , 'Skins!
We gots our own Bynesie!
Of course , our Byrnesie’s .300 avg is mythical. And less acrobatic.
In fact , he’s starting to stink up th’ joint…

Your Byrnesie is making more money, though,
isn’t he? Just like how your ace Barry Zito is making more than Brandon Webb?

Speed and defense!
Are we already down to just speed?

didn't he win the gold glove last year?
i haven’t seen one impressive play from him so far
Dodgers fans eat their young.
Made a nice catch against the wall last night
thats it… He’s hurt. Why is he playing?
Eugeniooooooo!!!!
by FairweatherFan on Apr 15, 2008 2:47 PM PDT up reply actions
He’s hurting. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. But he shouldn’t be out there just because he wants to play.
Eagerly awaiting Crazy Crab Bobblehead Night on 7/18.
I agree, We have plenty of OF. Let him get healthy. He is visibly uncomfortable out there.
Eugeniooooooo!!!!

Pitching and defense
both plays this inning – Castillo and Rowand – were difficult but good teams make those plays
yeah, that's what hurts.
Eugeniooooooo!!!!
by FairweatherFan on Apr 15, 2008 2:47 PM PDT up reply actions
I fucking hate Rowand
60 mil for a ‘gold glove’ outfielder with freakin no range. That wasn’t even that tough of a dive. And his bat sucks too. Davis would’ve had it in a jogging stride…
I don't hate him
I just think that him playing hurt doesn’t do anyone any good.
Eugeniooooooo!!!!
by FairweatherFan on Apr 15, 2008 2:49 PM PDT up reply actions
I don't hate him (yet)
but I find it pretty irritating that he appears to be one of those players who thinks he helps the team by playing injured when he really doesn’t.
Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

True, Qualls had a rough night,
but neither run was earned. Our fielding was just THAT ghastly. In fact, none of Randy’s 3 runs were earned either.
"I was tied to a chair and he had a baseball bat. Pissing him off was the smart thing to do."
Blanks seem to have issues with the Rockies.
Now – rather than much , much later – would be the appropriate time to work them out.

get more than one hit to start with…
at least he went down...
swinging like a man going for a 5-run lead off homer.

You know
I’m beginning to suspect that John Bowker might not homer every game after all.

No, I mean, I was all excited for the beginning of the season and they lost a bunch and then I sort of tempered my expectations (and didn’t have internet access for about a week) and then find out that, pleasantly, they’re only 2 games under .500! And I’m like, hey, this could be fun!
And then this happens. Like clockwork.
