Davis?? He is a bum unless you are talking about another Davis. Rowand was signed for too many years and too many dollars to not be in the line-up in CF.

Because as long as he is on this team Bochy is going to use him wrong. We is a great partner for this team as a right handed compliment to a platoon, but otherwise we is a late inning defensive replacement. Alsoaccardo was great as a middle reliever, he crumbled when put in the ninth, not the eight and or seventh.
Not sure how hold Hennessey is
we should cut him in half and count the rings to be sure.

I actually thought that Hennessey was the right move instead of Wilson, because you were dealing with the bottom of the order. You figure Hennessey gets thru the ninth and you bring in Wilson if there's a tenth because of those big hitters the Cardinals have in the middle. The problem is that Hennessey can't get anyone out these days.

I don't know what's inside that enormous skull Bochy totes around, but it can't possibly be a brain.
First he takes Cain out with two out and Izturis up. Cain was still throwing well and had only thrown 95 pitches. Bochy didn't think Cain could get Izturis and end the inning?
Then he brings in Taschner, who had Izturis on the ropes but has a pitch get away from him and he hits Izturis.
So, a RH-hitting pinch hitter is announced and out trots Bochy to take out Taschner? Geez, the slavish devotion to never allowing a lefty-righty matchup. Forget that Taschner showed last year that he was excellent against RH hitters. In fact, don't even think at all. Just do what you always do.
So in comes Merkin, who throws one pitch to get Ludwick.
Now we go to the eighth, there's been no pinch-hitter, Valdez can't be tired, but it's the eighth inning, and MLB rules clearly state that you must use your setup man in all 8th inning would-be save situations.
So away goes Merkin, in comes Walker. Walker has nothing and naturally coughs up the lead. And there's nothing IDIOT Bochy can do. He's already wasted all his bullets.
For his next trick, Bochy brings Brad Hennessey into the game. A 5-5 tie in the 8th inning, and Bochy entrusts it to Hennessey! Everyone else on the planet knows that Hennessey has completely lost whatever he once had. I mean, there are life forms on other planets that were shaking their collective heads when they saw Hennessey take the mound. Naturally Hennessey gives up the 2-run HR. Cards lead 7-5. Bochy sits there, breathing through his mouth, a little pool of drool collecting in his lap, and wonders what happened.
Just to complete the story, after the horses have all escaped from the barn, Bochy gives us the brilliant move of bringing in Brian Wilson. WHAT'S THE POINT?????//SLASH
A 3-year old could've brought this game home in the win column. Unfortunately, Bruce Bochy falls just a tad bit short of a 3-year old's intellect.

8 runs scored, a 9th inning comeback
It was asking a lot for them to pull another one out of their ass.

7 runs scored.
Plus they sure succeeded in screwing over Matt Cain once again.

Taschner and Merkin combine to throw 4 pitches.
Hennessey and Walker combine to throw 40 pitches.

To be fair, he didn't expect Hennessey and Walker to be THAT bad

Who's worried?
I don't think they're going to win on many people's birthdays this year, sir.

Hennessey is the goat to me. Tyler gets a pass because that's his first bad game. Hennessey has stunk all season.
Brian Sabean's new dad: Firm believer in corporal punishment
My friend Mordy from Monsey is a religious Jew who can't watch Friday night or Saturday day games. He's going to call me in about an hour and blame me for both these losses.

Weren't
the Giants absolutely terrible in Saturday day games last season as well? Maybe they need to mass convert to Judaism and refuse to play until sundown.
Eagerly awaiting Crazy Crab Bobblehead Night on 7/18.
This could've been the greatest game of the year. Instead, it's just another Giants game.

Boxscore has Nooner listed at LF but just heard a play where Nooner is actually playing his usual 2B
This won't help

I was going to complain about this game
Then I realized I'm a Giants fan.
I need to pace myself.
If you like things that are funny, perhaps you will enjoy ChatterBalks Dot Com?
I see the Red Sox's in Cain's future.
No way he re-signs here.
"You're all worthless and weak, now drop and give me twenty!"
Natto, are you watching them close out the Yanks?

I was at the game
Somehow that "young" contributions made the total devestation easier to take.
