Rotoworld Top 10 Prospect Analysis
Matthew Pouliot breaks down the top prosepects for each team in the NL West. Here's a link to the Giants Prospect page: Rotoworld Giants Prospect Breakdown
#1 is, obviously, Villalona. Money line:"He doesn't take wild swings at breaking balls, and he shows some willingness to take pitches the other way."
A disciplined hitter? In the Giants farm system?
#2-4 are Sosa, Alderson, Bumgarner, followed by Noonan and Schierholtz.
For some reason Velez is number seven even though he's with the big club. If you take him out Tanner would be #10.

P.J. Phillips last #1 position player?
Who?

Is it REALLY so hard to get right? It's two freakin' letters!

I don't know about anybody else
But I'm really good at remembering things in that 3-8 letter range, but anything more or less than that is a total crapshoot.

I agree, howtheysdrgklsd.
If you like things that are funny, perhaps you will enjoy ChatterBalks Dot Com?
It's not like there's a million two-letter combinations!
JR, RJ, JP, PJ, MJ, AJ, DJ, BJ, CJ, JC, OJ, VJ, LJ, L Ron... But those are the only ones I can think of!

Can I get a JT?
And don't forget about Kruk's pal Q.V. Lowe, aka Qonly Vonly.
2008: My previous assessment may have been overly optimistic.
Also JD, JJ, CC, and our buddy FP.
Moving into the more exotic: TR, RA, FC, JA, RE, CV, TE, RC, CB, JB are all initials to be found at Baseball-Reference.com. There was even an O.F. who once played for the Cardinals.

OF did not play CF..
I'm dissapointed.

You're disappointed?
Imagine how Sabean felt. Born in 1881 - that's a whole lot of veteran savvy!

Velez still did have...
"Rookie" status coming into the season, that's why he's on a prospect list. Usually the lists use the same status as rookie.

I thought it strange...
...that they describe Noonan as a "rare true second baseman", even though he was a shortstop in high school and split time between SS/2B equally last season.
Also, they identified Bumgarner as an RHP, but that's apparently just a typo, since the writeup correctly describes him as a lefty.

Only until they break him of that pesky, un-gritty, no-swag habit.
Neglectful father of David Quinowski
A Carribean who doesn't hack at slop nightly? I guess he's not braindead.
2008 Giants: A steaming pile of scrap!
Villalona - 210 lbs
"Already powerfully built at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds"
If only this were true, instead of a doughily built 260....
I'll take nothing below the 900 mark, thank you.

Marcus Sanders
I know he hit pretty poorly in 2007 but where the hell is this guy? Is he still in our system? I haven't been able to find him.
