Frandsen: "No sir; what's that?"

Sabean: "Terrific. I knew I could count on you. Now this here is what we call 'the tools of ignorance.' It's just a phrase, don't worry about it. This stuff is in your size, and I want you to spend some time with Bengie and Edgardo while you wear. Just get a general idea of what they do. Remember, flexibility: that's the key. Well, that and speed and defense. And above all, warrior spirit. Tell me, Kevin, can you smell my warrior spirit?"

Frandsen: "Uh...yeah, sure, sir."

Sabean: "Good boy. Now get some practice in at catcher, and remember: you're our secondbaseman of the future. But if we need you a short, or third, or catcher, or to pick up Rowand's laundry, we hope you'll have that warrior spirit."

Frandsen: "Uh...I do. Er, I will."

Sabean: "Excellent. Say, did you ever play centerfield in high school or college?"
