Every outfielder I can remember over the past 10-15 years (Sabean's tenure) that has come up through the Giants farm system is mediocre (Linden, Ellison, Schierholtz...) to downright awful (Lewis, Torcato), defensively.

Can't the Giants hire, like, an actual coach? To, you know, teach Giant minor league outfielders how to do things like:

  • take a proper route to fly balls
  • not lose fly balls in the sun
  • throw to the right base
  • other stuff like that
Stuff that good outfielders do, or so I've heard.

Yeah. I remember the beard having more power, and a better OBP than Pedro himself.

They give the Frick awards out like pez, but the media and Veteran's Committee still get away with outright stupidity by not letting the Hall be inclusive and keeping it exclusive.  But I hope the Tommy Lasorda's and Tim Kurkjian's of the world have to answer for helping putting the mic before the bat and ball.

At the risk of impeding progress on the cloning project, I'll just take a quick moment to mention that the award for broadcasters isn't the equivalent of Hall of Fame induction of players etc.

Anyway that's what they tell me.

The must-win lineup: 9 singles, 1 double, 1 walk (Schierholtz!), 1 HBP (Frandsen), an HBP that was denied for "leaning in" (Frandsen again), 1 run, and not nearly enough liners to crowd the outfield.
