Anyone else listening to this game? 16 of his first 18 pitches today were balls with one wild pitch. Four BB to start the game?

You say you work as business operations manager for the blues.

Is there any way you could set up maybe an announcing job there? I've got some good references, a great voice (including 6 years of vocal/theatre training) and a 9 year playing background in the game.

I haven't seen Lowry pitch this spring, but I remember when he came out at the end of last season. He could throw the fastball OK, but when he tried to throw the changeup, it sailed up and way to the backstop. It looked to me like he had lost feeling or strength or both in the left pinky and 4'th finger, in the distribution of the ulnar nerve, which is of course near the ulnar collateral ligament.

Putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5!

I would say that if this happens again the next outing, one of two things is probably true:

He has a residual ulnar nerve problem from last year's injury, and most likely a partial tear of the UCL, or......
A case of Steve Blass/Rick Ankiel Disease.

Either one is bad news for him and us.

Yikes, I'd say that having trouble feeling the ball does not portend well any time it happens. Count me as very worried that something is just not right with that guy's arm/hand.

Regardless of what anybody says, he did manage to pitch his way out of that first inning. That's what he's known for, right? Pitching himself out of innings?

If you think about it a certain way, he pitched himself out of the second inning, too.
