Aaron Rowand will never be a giant. He's a philly in a giants uniform.

I have been an avid McCovey Chronicles reader for sometime now. I never thought i would blog but every man has his breaking point.  It's like my family member died and we don't even get a tombstone anywhere? Nothing that says remember Barry, remember how happy he made us? He was a d!ck yeah so what, so i gotta a couple of those in my family too.  He was good to the fans here in the bay area though.  When our big brother went on the road he was tortured and it was good to have a place where we could cheer him.  Everywhere i go i would also get heckled for wearing my Bonds apparell.  I was proud to be a Barry Bonds fan as I am for the rest of my life. I was proud to be a giants fan.  I don't know if I can say the 2nd one anymore.    Barry! Barry! Barry!

Aaron Rowand is not a Philly in a Giants uniform. Even worse, he's Aaron "White Sock" Rowand, and he has a secret plan to turn the Giants into Chisox West, but without the centennial championship.

The Joe Crede thing was just the beginning. Beware.

Move. On. Already.

You may need more drunk-time activities. I've heard of drunk dialing, but drunk blogging takes the cake...

Flexo

So I have seen each Futurama episode at least three times - except for the one with Fry's dog which is really sad at the end, and I sort of refuse to watch it again - and I did not know what the context of the above still was. Wonderfully done.

I looked up Steve Kline in the dictionary. He wasn't there. If he was, it would have said "pretty okay"

Pitch 2 Barry got it right...

I miss Barry Bonds.

I miss Barry's stepping into the batter's box with the most powerful stroke since Babe Ruth and the finest eyes this side of Angelina Jolie. I miss his home runs soaring over the right-field wall and turning McCovey Cove into the Battle of Jutland. I miss his ability to single-handedly turn a baseball game into an event so spectacular it should come with spotlights, limousines, a red carpet and Joan and Melissa Rivers.

I even miss pitchers' intentionally walking him with first base open.

Pitch 2 Barry got it right alright. Barry should have went out in style, just like he played for the Giants these past years. The Giants owed him that, at least. They will come to realize that once they see the sparse bleacher seats behind left field where his die hards used to chant... "Barry, Barry, Barry!"

But...

I liked having Bonds here, but now he's gone. I also loved seeing Joe Montana, Michael Jordan, Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna, but they're all gone as well.

I'll put it this way: I am, and always will be, a Giants fan. I enjoy the players who played here, but I'm a team guy first and foremost.

It was time for Barry to go. All those legal issues and the media circus was enough already. It's time to focus on what is happening on the baseball field, even if that is depressing. If Bonds was still here and the team was still good, we'd be wondering if any day now he would be taken out of the lineup because of his legal woes. The team is awful and it would be awful even if Barry was there. The famed " we finished last with you, we can finish last without you" line holds here.

Show Barry some respect

The reason there is no Barry memorial anywhere at SBC is, in my opinion, directly related to Barrys nonparticipation in the Home Run Derby, right or wrong that he did'nt go, the Giants made the same $$$ with him there or not, yeah I would have liked to see him there, but whatever. Pete is being a bitch.

Prediction: Aaron Rowand: BA .278; HR 12; RBI 84

isn't $16 mil respect, when no other team in MLB would offer him a job? I understand the Giants not wanting to put up statues, 762 markers, and giant inflatable heads to honor Barry. What if he signs with the A's, or even the Dodgers' (God that would be fun...Barry and Jeff, togeather again!)? Let him oficially retire, wait a couple of years, then have a Barry-palooza weekend, complete with Portuguese Water Dogs, orange and black flowers, and Willie Mays trotting out to meet Barry at the mound during the pre-game celebration. Let it rest for now, he'll have another day.
