Frandsen Done For the Season

Bad news - The Oakland Tribune is reporting that Kevin Frandsen ) is scheduled to have season-ending surgery Saturday to repair his ruptured Achilles' tendon. Good news - Uhh, there isn't much really.  Unless you you have Rich Aurilia in your Fantasy baseball leagues for some unknown reason.

Yea I figured that..

No other way of letting it heal than to go in and re-attach it.

To stop leaving comments open for that reply.

Do they know to win the game a team has to actually score at least once?

Not Rich Aurilia, but I did just add Velez to my fantasy team at 2B. I was lacking in steals potential and thought it was worth a shot.

Random Note On Blackley

Didn't know where else to put it:

News: Blackley has accepted his assignment to Triple-A Lehigh Valley, the Phillies' official site reports.

Spin: The Giants didn't want him back, so Blackley will remain in the Philadelphia organization where he's got a chance to eventually push for a spot in the bullpen with the Phillies.

Kinda wished we woulda tried to get him back..

He's nice for SP depth...

But Misch is definitely in front of him on our depth chart. Palmer could most likely do the same thing, be a 7th starter.

And I can't blame him, I'd much rather take a AAA assignment with the Phillies than the Giants, the Phils pitching depth could be a problem for them and he might end up at some point on a winning team.

As bad as it seems, the Giants definately do have some quality 6th and 7th starters.

i'm glad that misch is ahead of a player we don't have the rights to on the depth chart

Hahahhaha

Not laughing at Kevin...laughing at the Giants.

Not enjoying it

Just laughing. The ownership/management is a joke and we are seeing the fruits of their efforts. Sometimes you laugh at things because you can't pick them up and throw them against the wall then jump up and down on them.

But good try, anyway.

LOL - I misread the title

When I first saw this FanPost (in my peripheral vision), I thought it said:
Franchise Done For the Season

by Jakespaar on Mar 27, 2008 3:43 PM PDT reply actions

That title would have been more accurate, but I think the season was done long before Kevin blew out his Achilles.

Kevin can at least save face and tell his grandchildren he coulda been a contender. Thats the bright side. The dark side would have been if he had continued along his path to JR Phillipsdom.

Kevin is kinda of like the fighter pilot who had no business flying airplanes, much less combat aircraft who gets shot down on his first mission. He at least gets to die a hero without getting anybody worthwhile killed in the process.

Short term cruelty. Long-term redemption.
