One week left to get this well-oiled winning machine ready for prime time. I, for one, think they can do it.

I don't care where Castillo is...
As long as it's not blocking Velez.
Ok
March 24th and Molina is still batting cleanup. This was fun for off-season and ST laughs but now I'm getting nervous.
This can't really happen in the regular season. I mean there's really bad lineups, and then there's Bengie Molina hitting cleanup.
Speed Kills
I miss the station to station baseball we used to play.

How many bases do we have to steal to equal one two run homer?

Well-oiled machine?
I think we've got a new slogan...
"2008 Giants: Bring Plenty of Lube"
2008 Giants: A steaming pile of scrap!
On a team with Bocock, you'll need it.

More speed
I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that Bengie won't try to steal here
Randy Messenger: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!!"
anyone care to help with play-by-play?
just throwing out a line when something happens would be pretty freaking awesome.
You really don't want to know about anything that's happened so far.

Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead...
...and the Giants still can't hit.
2008: My previous assessment may have been overly optimistic.
you sure you want to know??
Bengie leads off with a walk, Castillo follows with a K, and Velez hits into a force.

7/18 is my birthday. Feel free to mail me your crazy crab bobblehead as a birthday gift.

Velez
Probably could homer into a force w/ bengie on...
Nothing against Nick Pereira...
...but isn't the last week of ST normally the time when they tune up the guys who are, you know, actually on the roster?
2008: My previous assessment may have been overly optimistic.
I think he's emergency starting for Correia and his cranky shoulder. They probabaly didn't want to move anyone up a day.
http://www.baycityball.com
Oh right, the cranky shoulder...
...I read that in the paper this morning and immediately got an image of Correia with a crank sticking out of his shoulder.
Which is, admittedly, better than the fork in the back that some of our other players are sporting...
2008: My previous assessment may have been overly optimistic.
Correia is skipping a start because of a sore shoulder. This close to the regular season they didn't want to mess with their set rotation to start the season.
by paboperfecto on Mar 24, 2008 1:36 PM PDT up reply actions
No, a foot in front of the wall according to the radio. I guess it is a little bit though, an out is an out is an out, as I'm sure we'll get used to plenty of times this season.
by paboperfecto on Mar 24, 2008 1:37 PM PDT up reply actions
Pereira
Correia was supposed to start, but they skipped him due to shoulder problems. Not supposed to be serious, just a precaution.
