Released?

Apparently Randy Messenger was released unconditionally on Wednesday, a week after he was optioned to Triple-A Fresno. Does anybody know exactly why he was released?
He did struggle once he returned from the DL last September, and then gave up 4 runs in 2 spring training innings. But before going on the DL, Messenger had a 2.62 ERA. Guess why released: Randy Messenger requested it upon demotion. Some kind of move had to be done though, because both Erick Threets and Merkin Valdez are both out of options.

Messenger...Gone
Hey, maybe I was right about him being client number 10!! I am now left without an adopted child. First dips on Crede or Inge!!
Randy Messenger: Client Number 10 "Glad they stopped at nine!!"
But now our team's hat average is dangerously bent and not-tilted!
I looked up Steve Kline in the dictionary. He wasn't there. If he was, it would have said "pretty okay"
We're going to lead the league in non-broken hands!
He is Vengeance. He is the Knight. He is Dave Righetti. PRAY TO HIM!

Now there is 3 open spots on the 40-man.
Sabes getting ready to make a move??
Adopted Giant Brian Wilson: Your 2008 closer.
Our Aggressive GM
Sabean has been in a 3-point stance for months now.
Unfortunately, I think he has calcified in that position.
I have a ball of cat hair to offer.
Democracy is lovely but baseball is more mature. BVCE supports Manny Burriss and SF Dugout.

Those equipment carts must have some friends in high places.

Crede?
If Sabes trades more than an autographed Tim Lincecum jersey, a Robby Thompson Sportsflics rookie, and a pack of grape Big League Chew for this turd I am renouncing my love of the Giants for no less than 3 weeks!
Matt Cain's right hand beats a Royal Flush.
From the latest news about the White Sox, it doesn't appear that they will be trading Crede away any time soon. They only won't a big return in return, meanwhile the Giants are trying to rebuild....not a great combination for trading partners.

Wow...
Can't tell whether that was a long subject or a bolded comment.
Coming to you from the Land of Many Beers
No, I think it's a subject because subjects come up as links (the link to the single comment, rather than the thread) and regular bold doesn't. And I can tell just from what I'm doing right now that there is no more limit to subject length. LONG SUBJECTS

Which leads me to my second point, that subjects do have limits, since I typed "LONG SUBJECTS FTW" and you can see it cut me off after "SUBJECTS."

I read it as if you'd intended it that way. LONG SUBJECTS is such a great proclamation that the FTW seems kind of superfluous.
