Lineup

Rowand in the 2-hole? Bochy should be trying anything at this point...

Roberts, LF .267
Rowand, CF .267
Winn, RF .375
Molina, C .444
Durham, 2b .387
Aurilia, 3B .333
Ortmeier, 1B .189

Yuk

Molina/Durham/Aurilia/Ortmeier/ Bocock are, without any doubt, the worst 4/5/6/7/8 combo in the history of the MLB.

You deserve to be struck out, when your first name's a verb.

like the L/R balance of this line-up moreso than yesterday's line-up that had a lot of RHHs back-to-back

by wilriv21 on Mar 14, 2008 12:55 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I'd much prefer Rowand batting 2nd to Rowand batting 5th behind Bengie.

Matt Cain: He'll save children, but not the Dodger children.

by jponry on Mar 14, 2008 1:04 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

At least Rowand is finally in the right slot. Sadly, I don't expect it to last. I actually think Molina is the best option as a cleanup hitter v. lefties. I know, that's sayin' something. Are we facing one today? Can't be, if Roberts is leading off, right?

by BigO on Mar 14, 2008 1:08 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Is today's game on KNBR? they finally fixed my gameday audio subscription so I can listen now!

Grant

This has nothing to do with anything, but in the links section in the main page you have "my blogfather" and "Hardcore SF Giants" as one link, and for some reason it really bugs me.

Oh And the Autofresh in the gameday thread is just as cool/wierd as I thought it would be.

I think howie's a mod over at Niners Nation too. He's consolidating power. But why? For what sinister reason?

I looked up Steve Kline in the dictionary. He wasn't there. If he was, it would have said "pretty okay"

by groug on Mar 14, 2008 1:17 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Who has to sleep with howie to complete this consolidation of power?

as if any other opening day line up isn't any less scary. i'm curious if we could just skip batting all together and just create some rule about good pitching adds runs for us. then we can maybe win every 2 out of 5.

Good inning by Sanchez

http://www.baycityball.com

by xanthan on Mar 14, 2008 1:10 PM PDT   0 recs

Sanchez

In Jonathan Sanchez first outing he went one inning and allowed three runs. In his second outing he went two innings - in the first inning he gave of two runs and in the second inning he gave up one run. In his third start he went three innings of no earned runs. Now in his fourth start he pitch a another fine inning. He seems to be improving and taking control of an opportunity.

This is my first real opportunity to post on the site and take in all the features. Personal crises last night kept me from playing with the new stuff here.

Gotta say I'm impressed. The keyboard commands are great, the comments popping up automatically are great, the buttons on the posts and comments are great. Very user friendly.

Still think the blog looks dumb. Yes I will complain about anything possible.

I don't like pages where by design they try to cram all the content into a tiny 400-ish pixel column. Other than that, the page is new. Comments are cool.

I had never noticed that before; however, the site uses at most 1/3 of my screen (I am probably being generous in my assessment.) That's not so good.

I like the fact that I don't have to put a subject for each comment. Less pressure to define myself & my smart ass comments.

by ResDog on Mar 14, 2008 1:14 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Way better than seeing "post failed" because the initial subject line was too large, every time we reply.

You didn't really have to on the old site either. I mean, leaving it as "Re: Title" is sort of a title, but not really, you know?

I looked up Steve Kline in the dictionary. He wasn't there. If he was, it would have said "pretty okay"

Why are the comments yellow? I thought after they are read they turn white.

by cakes on Mar 14, 2008 1:17 PM PDT   0 recs

After they're read and then you hit a button (either z or x) they turn white.

by cakes on Mar 14, 2008 1:18 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Refreshing the page works too, I think.
