Baseball podcasts?
Anybody got a great baseball podcast they want to recommend? I've got a new train commute that makes it hard to read (crowded train, standing room only) so I'm looking for some new stuff to listen to.
In my fantasy world, there would be a podcast that is:
~ more about real baseball than fantasy baseball
~ weekly
~ about an hour long
But I'll take what I can get. Any recommendations?
Thank.

It's a mix of fantasy, stats, and real life stories. Sometimes it contains weird topic matter which makes it interesting. Best of all, it's free.
Listen to a few episodes, it might be for you.

ESPN has a "Baseball Today" 'cast that is good during the season if you can't check scores each morning. It spends a few minutes rounding up the previous nights' action and highlights. But the quality of discussion can border on moronic.
Re: Baseball podcasts?
Specifically, your use of "can" and "border on".

But for some reason I don't think Jim Leryitz will be part of the '08 broadcast team.
That's ok. The have Harold Reynolds to fill in.

Uh, welcome to the, uh, first, uh, McCovey Chronicles, uh, podcast. Uh...lessee...today, we'll talk about, uh, the same damn thing I wrote about on the site. Uh... Edwin Encarnacion: Does he exist, or is he a made-up creature like the chupacabra, yeti, or panda? Uh, I don't know.

Let's go to the phones. John in Restricted, you're on the McCovey Chronicles podcast.
John: "Hello. Are you looking to refinance your mortgage? We can save you thousands of dollars. All you have to do is press '1' now."
Grant: Good point about the debt service the Giants carry on the park. Also, they don't have a real first baseman. Next caller.

And totally unrelated to sports: Radio Lab by WNYC.

Re: Baseball podcasts?
What I wish we had was a Giants version of Cubscast, which can be consistently mildly entertaining and manages to cover news about the team, good analysis and that certain smidge of fatalism about players that only true fans can have. (Their injury report is a spliced up "help, I've fallen 'Kerry Wood'" bit.) Right now, the only Giants-specific content that I have a subscription to is the Chronicle's Giants Podcast, but it's a) 7 min or so and b) analysis from the Chron beat writers. If someone from this site made a Giantscast, I'd be first in line to sign up for the season.
