player from another team youd most like to be a giant?
regardless of how he was procured, or position he plays, or salary, or any of those other bothersome realistic roadbloacks. pretend he is dfa'd tomorrow (for whatever reason) and we trade them lou seal (or any number of hated current giants) straight up. who would you like to have in orange and black and why?
i choose you, ryan braun, with your super hitting attack and your million-error weakness!

If age were not a consideration, I would take Alex Rodriguez and play him back at shortstop, where he would dwarf even Hanley Ramirez.

Second choice is Ryan Zimmerman.

Re: player from another team youd
Right now the Giants' starting pitching is in the ballpark of being able to win a pennant. But their relief pitching isn't there yet -- and their hitting is the worst in baseball in some time.

I think he'll be a stud. Plus, there's all the great Eva Longoria/Tony Parker references we could make year-round.

I'm looking forward to adding him to my fantasy roster.

I am merely tempering my enthusiasm a bit based on his lack of contact. He's still young enough to improve on it, and he's actually doing darn well without it. But I worry a bit when guys' power/strikeout/walk ratios are out of whack, which I fear might be the case with Jay.

If he can come out west and hit like that, I will personally buy him all the Double-Doubles and animal style fries he wants.
Baseball Refence's similar batters through Age 24 season:
- Hank Aaron
- Ken Griffey
- Frank Robinson
- Orlando Cepeda
- Hal Trosky
- Joe Medwick
- Al Kaline
- Mickey Mantle
- Andruw Jones
- Vladimir Guerrero

Re: player from another team youd most like to be
Miguel Cabrera
David Wright
Russell Martin
Mark Texiera
(and believe it or not, because I think he's within reach. . .) Paul Konerko
Howsa bout
I'd like one Ryan Howard at 1B and another Ryan Howard in RF. This would prevent teams from pitching around Ryan Howard #1.
