I was reading the Chronicle this morning and I found this funny... then I thought to myself this isn't really funny:
"In his first competitive at-bat for the Giants, Aaron Rowand struck out against 49-year-old pitching coach Dave Righetti. The Giants split into two teams for a contest that awarded points for situational hitting and defensive execution. Righetti and special instructor Shawon Dunston pitched from 40 feet away, behind a screen - and threw hard."
This blurb followed some blah blah blah from Carney about how not all the A's success in 1988-1992 was tainted.
