Ken Rosenthal is not a nice man

so bonds has every right to play, and everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and bonds wasnt the only one doing it....but hes a cancer??? hes the only cancer??
what about all the unamed users?
what about the owners, managers and coaches who either stayed silent or encouraged the use of ped's?
what about the media who chose not to do any serious investigation?
what about you ken?? as i recall, you were one of the head cheerleaders during the sosa/big mac hr chase. maybe its you show stay the fuck away from the baseball diamond during the 08 season.
And im so sick of everyone buying into the petit bs apology. the guy doesnt get caught, he never apologizes. and his story about why and the duration of his use still doesnt hold water. but hes no cancer.
no....just bonds

Re: Ken Rosenthal is a dickless motherfucker
If anything, this is an argument for Bonds to play in 2008. He would represent a very bold and symbolic UP-YOURS to Mitchell and Selig. Bonds isn't putting PEDs in the headlines...these A-holes and the reporters who get paid to write unreadable trash about their sport do.

Re: Ken Rosenthal is a dickless motherfucker
why cant people accept the fact that the main reason the game has changed is due to the progression of time. athletes have year round training programs, nutritionists, and an infinite amount of other things available to them that was not there, nor thought of, in the supposed golden era of the game.
we can sit there and praise players of yesteryear for trying to gain advantages, ala scuffed balls, flattened bats, and numerous other means, yet BB gets thrown under the bus for supposedly taking advantage of things that were readily available to him and others.
the other thing i want to know is, what makes what BB supposedly did that much different than any player taking every supplement under the sun to gain an advantage? is it just the legality of said substances?

Re: Ken Rosenthal is not a nice man
Rosenthal is basically saying here that the owners should all agree to not sign Bonds--collusion, in other words. Collusion was wrong when the owners were trying to keep payrolls down. But this is different, right Ken?
Look, we have a set of rules meant to govern and protect the game. They now include testing for steroids and other PEDs, and they include penalties for testing positive for their use.
Rosenthal, and the sports media in general, keep trying to set themselves up as the arbiters of who is clean and who isn't. I can think of a few problems with this approach:
- The media's subjectivity and bias are astonishingly blatant.
- The media doesn't have access to complete information on every major league player. They certainly are able to dig up their own dirt, but when the media digs up dirt on a player, it calls into question why that player was singled out, who else has been ignored, and what was the determining factor either way. Today, we all "know" that Barry Bonds used PEDs, but we have no idea how many others have used as well.
- It's not the media's job. Ken Rosenthal has no authority, moral or otherwise, to tell any baseball owner who to sign or not to sign. It's MLB's job. Have they been doing that job? No, and that's certainly a big part of the problem. But the fact that Bud Selig is a buffoon and Gene Orza a sleazebag still doesn't mean that we need the game to be policed by the likes of Ken Rosenthal, Jim Rome and Rick Reilly.
