Giants! Obama! Baseball! Politics! T-shirts!

I came across this via Paul Lukas' Uni Watch blog, and I thought I should share.  I'm willing to bet one or two of you support the Obama.

Uni Watch News Ticker: Victory Pennants prexy Morris Levin and Uni Watch's own Scott M.X. Turner have teamed up to create Obama of Dreams, a series of baseball-themed Barack Obama T-shirts. "One of my underlying goals is to marry Obama with mainstream culture through baseball," explains Morris.

I think it's a brilliant idea.  Check out the the Giants version (I ordered one, even though I wish they hadn't gone black-on-black...please, no jokes...thank you):

http://www.obamaofdreams.com/ob20sanfrt.html

Full disclosure: I also ordered an A's version, just because.

Has McCC been around long enough to have gone through an election, or is this the first? I guess the political content, however benign, is just an inevitable unfortunatism.

I'm fairly sure the blog started in 2005, so this is the first.

But maybe there were a lot of political comments in the Waiting For Boof days.

But probably not.

Currently for me, though, Tom Wilkinson. Ever since his turn in Batman Begins, I've been noticing and appreciating his performances more and more.

I actually had a bit part (in a Greek chorus) in a play in college where Dave Strathairn was one of the leads! His crowd included some great talents (John Sayles being the best known). My approach - and talent level - translated into "anything virtually invisible but qualifying for the cast party."

Pearlman did a piece on baseball and politics.  He basically hung out in the Rangers clubhouse and reported that almost no one cared at all.

Except C.J. Wilson, who I'm starting to suspect is the next Doug Glanville, interview-wise, and good ol' Ellie, who is a man after Goofus' own heart.

And totally Al freakin' Leong.
