Lince tinkering with the delivery?
Other news from that article.
J.T. Snow will work at the minor league camp with Villalona on playing first base. The organization thinks his body is better suited for first base.

Re: Lince tinkering with the delivery?
Poop.
As Lincecum goes, I know the Giants aren't supposed to mess with his delivery, and what he's saying doesn't sound too bad to me, but I still sure hope he knows what the heck he's doing.
Though I'm sure sharksrog will assure me that he does.

Re: Lince tinkering with the delivery?
He's not changing his delivery he's just working on getting his legs started in the right spot then he'll go back to his delivery.

Re: Lince tinkering with the delivery?
I just make assumptions based on the titles of the Diary and the out of context excerpts. I thought that's how everybody did it.

Re: Lince tinkering with the delivery?
"Lincecum's throwing motion creates a lot of debate. On one hand, it adds to his deception and the force behind his pitches. But it also puts a lot of torque on his right leg. The right-hander has had tendinitis in the knee since college and ices it after he throws."
This is not a reason for concern, is it? Is it? IS IT?!!!!!

A prediction
I know we have a hole at third base, and Villalona's a first baseman now and has been playing third base for three years and only got a cup of coffee in the majors last year, but didn't we sign him as a third baseman? Why can't we put him back there?
PS-I can't believe Tim ascended into a higher plane of existence! I thought he would wait until free agency to do that. This is very disappointing to me.

I don't really think that would work.

Actually he is probably more suited to being Thighler Walker's stunt double.
Any goddamn fool including even me with failing eyesight, child-like optimism and a belief in fairy tales, could see that el beacho bolo wasn't going to make it at 3b, anymore than Prince Fielder, Cecil Fielder, or Michael Moore, the first time pictures of the kid were released.

I'm surprised the Giants aren't working on his conditioning more.

Re: Sounds like
Entering last season, Barry had thrown more pitches over the previous six seasons than anyone other than Livan Hernandez. It appeared to me that Barry's willingness (even if only temporary) to experiment with a delivery that might take some pressure off his arm was a positive indication that he realized his career was heading downward, even if the Giants didn't.
Two positives from Barry's 2007 season:
First, he pitched VERY well down the stretch, reversing his pattern of poor Septembers the previous two seasons.
Second, he threw far fewer pitches last season than in the six previous. His arm should be fresher entering the 2008 season than it has been in years.
